If you would like a taste of what it’s like to live in a luxurious Scottish Baronial home, this ticks all the boxes. From the grand outer facade, to the well appointed interior, we were treated like royalty for our one night visit. The food was to die for and the service was first class. What a surprise to walk into a clean, very neat apartment and immediately feel at home. There was everything in the kitchen, even a whole loaf of bread, milk, butter in the fridge, there were also biscuits, jam and lots more. Many thanks to a wonderful hostess who makes it so easy for travelers to feel at home in her unit and pays attention to even the smallest detail. Highly recommended, thank you very much!

    Lovely town with great high street lots of independent shops beautiful river walks plenty pubs but only one (at the bridge) with real ale very friendly pub and fun live music on Sunday nights great places to eat especially Coltman’s deli and the chocolate school shop . Recommend Peebles also has its own wee theatre x

    There is plenty of things to see and do in the area as well as in Pebbles. Good choice of pubs and restaurants to suit everyone. We were fortunate enough to be there when the Highland Games were on which was a bonus. Lovely walks along the river

    Hotel very clean and all the staff were amazing. Short walk down to the town and lots of things to do and visit in the area. Great selection of independent shops in the town. Lots of different options for places to eat and drink too.

    A lovely border town on the banks of the river Tweed.

    A lovely border town on the banks of the river Tweed. Lovely walks along the river. Beautiful buildings. Free parking in the car parks. Great for golf (Macdonald Cardrona), Mountain biking and Go Ape (Glentress).

    Peebles is a beautiful little town set on the River Tweed.

    Peebles is a beautiful little town set on the River Tweed. There are loads of walks and spectacular views. The birds we saw were amazing, crested gold finch and buzzards red starts and too many chiffon chaffs! There are good places to eat, particularly The Park hotel and Cocoa Blacks is great for hot chocolate.

    Check in was delayed from the 3pm stated. I waited for a room. Many others checked inline while I was waiting….dont understand that. As I had been there for 5hrs waiting Why was I not given a room and they wait

    The room was well appointed with beautiful views across the mountains. The hotel was in an excellent position with rgards to the town of Peebles. The hotel itself was architecturally interesting and plainly a great deal of imagination and effort have gone into making the hotel itself aninteresting and welcoming place. The breakfast was excellent and service was friendly and good, despite the fact that the staff were very busy attending to the needs of many people.

    The Tontine is a beautiful and friendly hotel with a fabulous location right in the middle of Peebles with handy parking, including 2 electric car charging points if needed. My stay included the option of breakfast which was delicious and there are fantastic views of the local hills from the room it was served in. Thank you for a lovely stay in the Borders.
