* The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a seamless experience on check-in (even though we arrived at the hotel at night time) & check-out, we were informed of everything we needed to know. * We stayed at the standard double room, which was perfectly comfortable and super spacious - apart from the bedroom and the bathroom, there was a sitting room. * We found the hotel gorgeous, with a nice vintage touch. The restaurant had spectacular views, there was a bar, a lounge, and a sitting area at the guests' disposal. * Parking was on-site and free of charge. * WiFi was okay, streaming was possible. * We loved the hotel's scenic location on top of a cliff, overlooking the village. It's also right there on a hiking trail, so we were able to plan that on our getaway. Great network coverage too, I was sharing data from my phone in order to work and the connection was very stable. * The food was excellent. The full breakfast was very filling; sides were offered, too. We also booked dinner on one evening and loved it, the salmon in particular tasted very fresh. * Dog-friendly :) we saw many pups in all areas of the hotel.

Stunning location. The apartment was beautiful and clean and had absolutely everything you require. We then moved into the hotel. The hotel itself is astounding inside and the staff are the nicest and most hospitable and helpful than anywhere I have ever stayed.     Fabulous clifftop walks to abandoned castles or sweeping bays. Amazing storm-driven waves crashing on the rocks either side of the harbour. good fun in the hotel bar. top tip: watch the sunset from The Mount Stuart dining room or bar, before heading down the hill to The Crown for a musical weekend.

    I had never been to Portpatrick so was surprised and really liked the area. We agreed to come back and look round the area and walks. Bought some gifts while we were there and all of us(4) commented on how calm a restful it felt.

    Portpatrick is a quaint seaside village with great access to the outdoors. A good stay, in my opinion, is all down to the weather. Unfortunately the prices in the sea front bars are 'city prices' with a pint of lager coming in at £6.50. Usual prices in the region vary from around £4.00 - £4.50. Very much ripping off the tourists.

    lovely wee village to visit. quiet and peaceful. stunning views and worth it just to go and see dunskey castle. place to go if you are looking for a nice relaxing time. places to eat along the front. easy enough to get around if physically able. waterfront is accessible but there are hilly areas

    It's a great place to stay and travel around to see Luce bay...

    It's a great place to stay and travel around to see Luce bay. Be-aware that the hotel sits on a hill with a great view, so that the walk back up from the harbour can be a bit of a strain. Boat trips are available.

    Excellent stay and value for money , the staff were exceptional and the quality of both breakfast and evening meals was tip top Would not hesitate to book again and would thoroughly recommend the hotel

    Our stay met our expectation having stayed there last year also. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and attentive and the food exceeded our expectation. We love Portpatrick and we love staying at Fernhill due to its location and views of the village. Fingal our black labrador thoroughly enjoyed his stay too and the cliff top walks are stunning.

    Very nice hotel in an ideal location. Great for a week/weekend away. The breakfast was lovely, also had great vegetarian options. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly. Will definitely be back good job guys! If you are visiting Portpatrick I highly recommend getting the ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast, only cost the two of us £30!

    The staff were friendly. The shower excellent.The toilet had a slow close lid so no accidental slamming down and the flush was very quiet. A very quiet hotel ,no squeaky floorboards or slamming doors.The bed was very comfortable.Breakfast was ok.View was as good as you can get in Portpatrick.

    Portpatrick fabulous. The hotel sitting on the cliff top couldn't be better. The staff were great. The girls waiting at dinner and breakfast were all friendly and helpful. The reception staff were friendly.
