Settle is a lovely little town.
Settle is a lovely little town. We were there in the rain, but could still enjoy what it has to offer. The musuem is free to visit and a good way to learn a little of the history. Nice Chinese take-away thats good value too. Scenery nearby is stunning- would definitely recommend taking the train to Carlisle, across the Ribblehead viaduct. (Road route of settle to hawes is beautiful too, even in a downpour) We would definitely like to return to the area. A weekend visit was too short!Guest review byAngelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a lovely village in Yorkshire with a very cute gingerbread style station that has connections between Leeds and Lancaster for commuter trains. Lots of places to eat and have coffee. There was a lovely flower pot festival when we visited.Guest review byChristinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

As soon as I arrived and looked around the house I thought this will do nicely and off I went to the cafe for coffee and cake. The lady in the old fashion sweet shop was very friendly and I bought sweets for my walk the following day. In the evening I ate at the pub on the main road. Settle is very easy to navigate and I love the friendly people and quaint buildings. My husband was a walks leader and he used to take me on many walks from Settle. There are so many footpaths easy and difficult and I think it is an excellent location for walking.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It is a great central base, plenty of options for walking and cycling. The decor, the staff, the room was beautiful, lovely little espresso machine in there too, very comfy bed, the food was fantastic, breakfast was exceptional. We usually stay at the Royal Oak down the road and we’ll never stay there again, so if you’re in between which one to choose, pay the little bit extra because it was well worth it.
