The location was wonderfull! A nice and peacefull road with absolute silence and tranquility. The hosts are the most friendly and kind people you will ever meet in your life, they make sure you are confertable and the rooms reflect that with a nice soft and comfy bed. The rooms where very clean and fresh and the breakfest, dont get me startet this was by far the best english home made breakfest i ever had. Southwell is a delight.

Southwell is a delight. The Minster and gardens are worth a visit. Everyone we met was very friendly and considerate. A car even stopped to let us cross the road. Maybe the warm weather lifted everyone's spirits.

We were in Southwell for a family birthday lunch held in the...

We were in Southwell for a family birthday lunch held in the Stage venue at the Old Theatre Deli. The food and service were excellent and appreciated by all fifty guests. We also had a first-class meal at the Hearty Goodfellow the previous evening - also highly recommended. Between these two venues lies the golden heart of Southwell - the Minster - a magnificent 12th century Romaneque church, known especially for the delicacy of its stonework - and in particular its rood screen and the carved leaves which adorn the capitals of the Chapter House and elsewhere. The Minster is known as the 'hidden gem' of English Cathedrals - and it is easy to see why. Do visit if you can!

Surprisingly lovely town, lots of nice shops, outstanding minster with very friendly staff. Great breakfast at Alfresco cafe, lovely chocolate shop too. Went racing roo which was great - exceeded my expectations! Very friendly staff there.

A lovely little market town with lots of individual shops in...

A lovely little market town with lots of individual shops in narrow streets and a variety of places to eat. Recommend Gossips Coffee House - delicious food and you can book a table! Parking is easy too and very central. Southwell Minster is a wonderful building with some amazing stonework features. Do book a guided tour. It is free entry to the minster and the Bishops Palace next door. The town workhouse is also well worth a visit.

Wow, wow, wow. I booked here for an overnight stay in Southwell as the reviews were really good. I was not disappointed! Such a comfortable and relaxing stay - very well equipped, clean, quiet and just lovely. Being only a 15 minute walk into Southwell, it is perfectly located to enjoy sightseeing and with a large superstore only a short walk away too, so convenient as well. The owners are really helpful and made my stay first class. Thank you Southwell Home Stay. I have no hesitation recommending this property.

A lovely house on the edge of Southwell, great location in the countryside but close enough to the town. We had a couple of small issues on arrival but after contacting the lovely host Tim, these were instantly sorted. The house is quiet, lovely big bedrooms and reception rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Wonderful powerful showers and 2 bathrooms. The beds and pillows were comfortable, lots of wardrobe space and coathangers. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We had a super stay at Lavender Cottage in Southwell. Rebecca was an amazing host; we had the most incredible welcome with a breakfast hamper and personalised gifts for our young children. The cottage was perfect for our stay, located around 5 minutes walk from the minster and centre of town with its shops and restaurants.

Extremely clean, well equipped, comfortable and very easy to walk wherever we needed to go. We had two cars and parking close by on the road was no problem. The leisure centre is only a short walk away and offers free long term parking if required. Host friendly and Southwell lovely.
