bashley sway area was a lovely location. highcliff castle a few miles away is worthb a visit. barton on sea a glorious area on the seafront. ideal for dog walking. lymington was close to sway and we had two meals in wetherspoon. great value . its close to the church in the high street. plenty of parking behind marks and spencer for great shopping without horrendous parking fees. disabled parking is free.

A quiet small village with friendly people.

A quiet small village with friendly people. Good to use as a base. Easy drive to the forest, Brockenhurst, Burly, Lyndhurst and Milford On Sea etc. Great breakfast at the Sway Deli. There's two pubs to choose from and there's the lovely Manor Hotel if you fancy a posh meal.

The location of Sway is very convenient for exploring the New Forest and the coast. Historic places - Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard - Keyhaven for walking by the Salt Marshes and Hurst Spit with its lovely beach are easily reached. The very regular train service from Sway to Brockenhurst and on to Lymington provides a nice alternative to driving and finding parking in a very popular tourist centre.

Most liked visiting surrounding villages in particular Burley witch village. Good place to see ponies and nice souvenir shops and ice cream stall. We also liked walking in the woods. There is free parking at the top of Burley then a short down hill walking the very pleasant village.

Excellent food.

Excellent food. Friendly staff welcoming and attentive to our needs . Enjoyed visiting the coast to Barton on sea.Lymington and Keyhaven for a ferry trip to Hurst castle. Enjoyed coffee and lunch at The Cliff Hotel at Barton on sea Easy reach to other places in the New Forest and see the ponies roaming along the roadside

sway is lovely place to stay only if you have a car, because...

sway is lovely place to stay only if you have a car, because the roads have no side walk and are very narrow. walking pathways are not clearly marked or overgrown. caravan sites are really lovely and easy access about if you have a car or able to use the taxis. But if your not use to walking long walks sways not the place for you.

The property was charming in the way that we were expecting. It is hidden away in a quiet location in Sway which makes for a relaxing, peaceful break. Overlooking the fields, you could sometimes hear and see the horses nearby. We liked that there was a tennis court that we could access directly from our garden if we wanted to, by walking through the gate at the end of our property. However it was secluded from where we were staying, we didn't feel overlooked, we had the privacy of our space. I will definitely book this again.

We loved our stay at Winter Haven Cottage, the cottage was perfect and had everything we needed. Louise was an excellent host and very quick to respond to any questions. The location of the cottage is incredible, it is just a 2 min walk from beautiful heathland, so perfect for a morning walk with the dog. We recommend the Hare and Hounds pub which is just round the corner and The Forest Deli Sway which does a amazing breakfast! We will be back :)

A great overnight stay on our way to a wedding in Devon. A previous reviewer was very scathing, not sure she stayed at the same hotel! The dinner was lovely and certainly enough for an adult and the breakfast too with plenty of choice.
