lovely friendly staff and I love the antiquated vibe of the hotel. the views were utterly stunning and it felt very safe. I've read some reviews saying the hotel needs updating and I don't agree at all. I think staying somewhere like this is a nice visit to simpler times, it felt very grand and pleasant and all the staff were really welcoming. I loved it.

Lovely high street albeit very busy at times, being a main route. Some nice shops for ladies and gents. We sampled two restaurants and enjoyed the food and service in both and finished both of our evenings in the Grape Vine listening to some jazz which was very relaxing. The White Lion is well placed in the centre of town and the service and beer were very good and the room was comfortable and clean.

A great location. Very comfortable stay.

A great location. Very comfortable stay. Great for golfers although it was a 9 hole course but you can go around twice to get 18. Golf reasonably priced. Decor a little dated but the size of room and view from the balcony more than made up for that. All in all stay exceeded expectations. Found a little gem will return again.

The "Spirit of Tenterden Festival" had just started when we...

The "Spirit of Tenterden Festival" had just started when we arrived and it really added to the lovely atmosphere in this small town. The High Street is a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars with an eclectic selection of buildings, making it a wonderful place to simply wander. Chapel Down winery is only a few miles away (and walking there is possible along the High Weald Path, which crosses the High St.), the heritage railway and museum is great, and there are many other places locally to visit. We would definitely return to visit some of the other places and would choose Tenterden to base ourselves.

Stayed in Tenterdon for a visit to Chapel Down Vineyard.

Stayed in Tenterdon for a visit to Chapel Down Vineyard. Excellent location for this with a taxi costing £15 e/w but it is also on a local bus route so check the timetable to save money....Lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Tesco and Waitrose also very near by.

Did the Vinyard tour, and then early evening enjoyed an Italian meal in the town. It was impossible to get a Taxi home as there are none in Tenterden, It's bizarre! Only private car hire, who arent intersted at short notice. Restaurant manager kindly found someone to take us back to our hotel.

Lovely little cottage, very small not ideal for people...

Lovely little cottage, very small not ideal for people taller than 6ft. Very dangerous stairs would not recommend for the elderly. Unfortunately the property needed to be a little cleaner. The floor was dirty and a poo bag was found by the back door. Apart from this the location was great next to all the shops and pubs.

The room was one of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. Large room with comfortable bed, sofa and coffee table, good lighting and nice size TV. There was a kettle for tea with a good selection of tea bags as well as a coffee machine. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath over the shower. Parking was included which was helpful. I left too early for breakfast so unable to comment.

Great hotel in a good location- unfortunately have some building work going on next door however don’t let that put you off as it didn’t impact the experience- started after 9.00 and finished before 4.00pm. Staff are great, provide useful advice and very friendly. Food was good and good portion size - a good choice of food on the menu
