Fantastic accommodation, the room we stayed in was great and the high ceiling gave the room a very spacious feeling. Very comfy bed and friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

1A Market place is a fabulous little cottage in the heart of Tideswell. It has enough space to relax and enjoy the local area. The kitchen is well equipped. The lounge is cosy, the bathroom is lovely and the beds very comfy. The second bedroom is small. The layout of the cottage is quite quirky and we really enjoyed staying here for our long weekend. The heating was easy to operate and we were all very cosy for our February stay. The host were really lovely, in a call before the stay, to arrange the key collection, the host were so helpful recommending places to visit. We had an amazing dinner on our first night at The Star which is just 2 mins walk down the road. We will be back in the autumn as we all loved this place so much.

Cosy and comfortable cottage with all the mod cons to make our stay a relaxed one, nice decor and lovely spacious bedrooms. Great location close to all amenities in the heart of the village and easy to reach other sights in the Peak District. Information provided by the owners prior to our stay was appreciated and the welcome pack including locally made biscuits from the bakery a lovely treat. We stayed in October with our parents and couldn't appreciate the garden due to the weather but expect its a lovely sun trap in the summer.

What an amazing little pub hotel. Spotlessly clean, incredibly designed and so so comfortable. This was a gem of a find in the Peaks District and right down the street from adorable Bakewell. The breakfast was delicious (the black pudding!) and our stay couldn't have been better. Will stay here again the next chance we get.

I couldn't fault our trip - it was simply wonderful from start to finish. We had booked a king room which was amazing, so spacious, clean and modern. Topped off by a beautiful mountain view. The surrounding area had lovely walks with scenery for miles! The Blind Bull staff were all so friendly and welcoming, taking a genuine interest in your stay. There were so many small touches which made the stay feel extra special! The food was exceptional - everything tasted so good so I would definitely recommend booking an evening dinner in the restaurant.

We had a fantastic long weekend in Tideswell.

We had a fantastic long weekend in Tideswell. The village has pubs, restaurants ,cafes and lots of places to walk to and from, a beautiful church and a superb second hand bookshop. Tideswell is great base for exploring Derbyshire, most places are just 15 mins away by car and there are regular buses. Easy to visit Bakewell, Chatsworth, Buxton, Monsal trail, Eyam etc. Tideswell is a great place to visit as a family, couple or on your own, very peaceful and very friendly.

Loved Sal's Italian and The Star Inn pub was really friendly and welcoming. The George (? the one nearest to Sunshine Cottage) was closed at 10pm on a Saturday night! It seemed very very quiet generally but luckily Sal's and the Star saved us! We lunched at The Anglers Rest: great food and helpful staff.

Tideswell is a beautiful, unspoilt and quiet village in the Peak District of Derbyshire. It lies approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Buxton on the B6049, making it a great place to base yourself, for exploring the local area. The village has several pubs, shops, restaurants and a chippy, in which to relax and have something to eat, drink and unwind. There is the famous church of St John the Baptist, known locally as the Cathedral of the Peak, due to its size. In the main part of the village, there is a dwelling, known as the Markeygate House, dating back to 1432. Wakes Week is celebrated around the time of the summer solstice, as well as well dressing. Check locally for exact dates & details.

The village is beautiful, with many very old and interesting properties to admire as you walk around its quaint streets. The local people are helpful and friendly, always happy to chat and tell you something about Tidza, as it is known. A good variety of things is available from the local co-op, which is open until late, so there is no need to go further afield for supplies. There is no shortage of pubs and places to eat out, not to mention the excellent chippy, which offers a great selection and friendly banter into the bargain!

The location, Tideswell is beautiful. Parking is very easy. Initially, we were quite impressed for a three star. It was clean, nicely appointed, a good selection of refreshments and complimentary toiletries, lovely, fluffy towels but the bathroom was very tired. The grout between the tiles in the shower was mouldy, although someone had obviously tried to clean it. There was mould on the ceiling above the shower and the floor covering in front of the shower was discoloured and needed replacing.

We had a fantastic stay - the room and the entire hotel was amazing, beautifully decorated and with lots of seating areas to chill or work in. Joe managed our stay really well, organising everything we needed for a late check-in. All staff were great, the food in the restaurant was really really good and definitely not on the expensive side. Breakfast was varied and really yummy, and again the service was great. We really loved staying here and are already planning on coming back next year!
