While on my motorcycle tour through Wales, I was looking for a last-minute place to stay near Cardiff as a starting point for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park. Luckily, I came across Cresselly Inn. The room was newly renovated, bright, and modern – very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and offered everything I needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and homely atmosphere from the moment I arrived. A special highlight of my stay was the quiz night. I had just checked in and was already invited to join a quiz team. I ended up having a lovely evening with the locals – one of those travel moments you don’t forget. I rarely feel this welcomed as a solo traveler. I can highly recommend Cresselly Inn – whether you’re just passing through or planning a longer stay in the area. Authentic, friendly, and simply a great place to feel at home.

Although our arrival was a bit confusing and we only introduced ourselves to the hosts the next day, everything turned out absolutely fine. The owners were warm and welcoming, and once we settled in, we had a lovely, peaceful stay. They’ve only been running the place for four months, but they’re clearly putting in a huge amount of work to make the site even better, from adding a stylish common room with stunning views to building eco pods and setting up ice baths. It’s exciting to see how the place is evolving! The cottage itself was cosy, clean, and well-equipped. We loved the quiet surroundings and the views over the valley. Definitely a place with heart, and a lot of potential.

The house has been furnished to an excellent standard, and is very comfortable. The area is quiet and parking on the street outside. The area was very quiet with little passing traffic. We booked the house at very short notice( on the day) having been let down by other accommodation Karen couldn't have been more helpful ( and sympathetic) We are very grateful to her and Cerys for their kindness

    A quaint little town with exceptional people. And of course, their star attraction, the Treorchy Male Choir!!! Such a fantastic experience. Not to be missed!! Don't miss the little shops. Many a treasure to be found. Our special pick was a gem of a place called 'Wonder Stuff'. Be warned. It is highly addictive!!

    Treorchy is a beautiful little village within the Rhondda...

    Treorchy is a beautiful little village within the Rhondda where I grew up , you have beautiful walks and mountains and the town is full of individual local shops transport links into the city are minutes away anyone visiting would have a wonderful time and plenty to do with the local hospitality second to none

    Loved visiting heritage sites nearby e.g Big Pit(1hour away), which is free and includes an underground tour down a coal mine and Castell Coch with its magical painted rooms(40 mins away). Drive over the Rhigos mountain for beautiful views. The Bistro attached to the hotel had excellent food including veggie options. The A465 is undergoing major roadworks, so plan for longer journey times if planning to use that route.
