Stones Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful stay! The room was cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully decorated. Vicki, the host, was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety to choose from. The peaceful atmosphere and attention to detail made it a perfect getaway. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly place to stay on the Isle of Skye!

It was in a great location, it was clean and comfortable. It was a little dated but that really didnt matter to us. The hosts had great communication, and it had everything we needed and we will most likely be booking this again next year.

The room was self-contained with beautiful views out the picture windows. The deck would be amazing in good weather but it rained our whole visit so we didn’t use it. Having a fridge was fantastic and everything you need was provided. There was even gluten free cereal in the cupboard! We didn’t leave the room from when we arrived at 5.30pm until we left the next day at 10am because we just loved sitting looking out the windows.

We loved our stay! The old house is beautifully redone and attention to detail on point! The rooms are beautiful and staff were very friendly and Accomodating We felt like we were in 17th century Scotland We had a whiskey by the fireplace in the evening and it was comfy and cosy and just magical Anyone wanting an authentic stay should definitely book here.

We stayed at the caravan purely to facilitate an early morning ferry to Harris. We had fish and chips from the local takeaway which were very overpriced for what they were. They’re clearly taking advantage!

A close drive to Quiraing and The Storr.

A close drive to Quiraing and The Storr. We hiked both on the same day as well as touring the Skye Museum of island life. There is not much to the town, but we had great meals at the Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel. The views are lovely.

I love Uig.

I love Uig. The locals were all so friendly and a wealth of information. It was easy to get around the island by car from Uig, and convienently close to the ferry (we caught it from Uig to Isle of Lewis).

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to...

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to North Uist and then again when we returned from Harris. There are a couple of options for food- The Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel, but they need to be booked in advance, then a cafe and a bar which does takeout food at the harbour. The brewery has a shop there, there’s a pottery and a petrol station and a small shop for food. One interesting place we found nearby was the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir and the cemetery next door which had a monument to Flora Macdonald and is the burial place of fashion designer Alexander McQueen!

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you...

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you need to make reservations if you want to have dinner. If not, you can drive to Portree, which is a 20 minute drive. Uig is nicely situated for visiting the northern part of the island of Skye.

Uig is well-located as a base for exploring the Trotternish...

Uig is well-located as a base for exploring the Trotternish peninsula. Ferries to Harris depart from there several times a day. Since Skye isn't particularly large, the rest of the island is also easily accessible from Uig. There's at least a small grocery store, a pub, and restaurants. Overall, we were well catered for there during our four-day stay on Skye.

It was a great cottage, everything was extremely well organized, great location, the falls nearby was fantastic and as soon we entered UIG we had an amazing view and once we reached cottage, we found it be really cosy and fantastic. Really enjoyed the stay and it was also convenient to drive down to popular locations or drive to a scenic point nearby to watch sunset. Highly recommend the place.

Location is wonderful with views of Uig Harbour. House is comfy and well resourced. Only negative was one bathroom with electric shower which never throws out much water. Great holiday though.
