We only stayed for one night, but the staff made every effort to make everything lovely. The place is perhaps a little dated for some, however , this is vastly outweighed by this immaculate hotel. The value for money is unbelievable. My partner is vegan and they provided soya milk for the room and a decent vegan breakfast.

Whitby is a lovely place to visit even in November, had a nice pint of IPA in the Black horse, although I thought the price for one pint of IPA and a bottle of ginger beer was very expensive £10-60!!!

I love the place, such a privilege to only live an hours drive away. I've probably visited at 15 times this year alone and will probably return again before the New Year. I'd recommend everyone to visit and I'm sure you will fall in love with Whitby.

Great town on my first visit was thrilled with the range of shops from the new part to the old part nice walk on the front round the harbour enjoyed a few of the many public houses Duke of York, The Dolphin and the Angel All staff we dealt with in the shops and pubs were really friendly. The atmosphere around Whitby was relaxed despite being really busy lovely place highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit . Beautiful historic coastal town

Have visited Whitby a few times and always loved it.

Have visited Whitby a few times and always loved it. Very interesting and historic place with a unique character. Lots of things to explore & places to eat etc. Spoilt for choice for fish! Only real issue is parking - free spaces unlikely. Does get very busy at times as well. Regular buses to Scarborough & places en route. Great for walking; including the coast path & steps to the Abbey. The Youth Hostel is next to it - amazing location for a bunk stay. Everyone is friendly & a great atmosphere. Well worth a trip & there's the North York Moors & towns nearby too.

Whitby is a beautiful old fishing town on the North Yorkshire Coast overlooking the North Sea with a protected harbour and the ruins of Whitby Abbey overlooking the town and surrounding area for miles. It is where Captain James Cook honed his skills as a mariner. We have been visiting Whitby for decades and we always find something new to love about it each time we visit.

This is a gem of a hotel. Excellent friendly welcoming staff. The hotel has its own car park virtually opposite with room for about 12 cars. The hotel situated in a quiet area is about a ten minute walk from the centre of Whitby. Our room was spacious..........breakfast was excellent with a good choice ie full English, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, kippers etc. We had dinner at the hotel twice during our three night stay which was a varied choice. Both breakfast and dinner was served at your table - silver service - couldn't be faulted.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Car was parked at hotel. Room was very clean, in fact sparkling clean. Amenities in the room were also very welcoming. Rooms was serviced every day. Breakfast was exceptional. Lots of choice in both hot and cold with fruit juice, tea or coffee with toast served to your table. There is a bar/lounge for guests to use, with choice of beers etc served in can, and a good selection of spirits to choose from. We had a lovely time at this hotel, and we definitely intend to return there on our next visit to Whitby

Location absolutely fantastic for the centre of Whitby and all its attractions. You cannot park at the hotel (parking is restricted in Whitby), but the hotel gives you a permit to park in local side streets. When we went in January, it was not a problem finding a suitable space, within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. The breakfast was top notch with good quality ingredients and a good choice of options – hot and cold. The staff were fantastic. Super friendly and helpful, especially those working in the breakfast area and bar.

I liked that the hotel was situated on a cliff close to whitby beach, I liked that if you ring in advance you csn reserve a car park space with your name above it, I liked that our view was of the sea, the shower was amazing, the bed was comfortable, there were 3 points of interest on the doorstep, the view from the front of the hotel was stunning, the room was cleaned and everything was neat and tidy when we returned to our room on the second day of our stay

What a fab find. Tucked away amongst a forest, this little cottage was a dream. Great amenities and only a short 10 min walk to the beach, bus stop, and easy reach to Sandsend and Whitby. Part of a larger estate with hotel / spa, there looked to be several cottages to choose from. Rooms were clean and fresh, great WiFi, and information about the facilities and local area. We will deffo be back.
