I love the variety of independent shops.
I love the variety of independent shops. The seafront, harbour area and little streets are really interesting. I swam in the sea and enjoyed restful hours on the beach. The vintage stores, charity shops and clothes shops are friendly and welcoming and I bought some nice gifts for friends and for myself. Windy Corner Stores does a great breakfast and coffee. The Whitstable Oyster restaurant was fantastic. Ossie's fish and chips were very good. Charming coastal town. Great seafood and lots of dining options. Land and Sea was a wonderful restaurant for dinner in Tankerton. The Sportsman is a Michelin-starred restaurant in SeaSalter (3-4 miles away). The Lobster Shack/East Quay Venue had great food and the venue is ideal for events. Great walking town and area. A great deal of interest - many individual shops and eateries, fascinating port offering boat trips, quayside market stalls, uncrowded and uncommercialised beaches, possibility of lovely walks along the sea front, excellent castle-gardens with superb tearoom. Lovely and quiet village.
