Just round the corner of almost everything. With downstairs in the the restaurant/pub the feel of an old place (not medieval but like it’s been there a long time) and in the room all you would expect of a hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast.

utterly stunning Hotel, staff are delightful so friendly and helpful, the rooms are all beautiful with individual touches and so incredibly pretty (well Mine was ) my Grandson with me loved his room and was very impressed with the hotel, The Gardens are so well laid out with little private corners to sit in and such a huge array of spring flowers it was so relaxing to spend time sitting out in them, the Bar was super really great Barman, wines beers etc were really good, now to the restaurant, WOW, the breakfasts are cooked to order and such a choice the freshness and quality of food is some of the best i have ever eaten in Hotels and i travel a lot, I particularly loved the avocado on the sour dough with spicy tomato salsa topped with poached eggs now that's how to start the day, My grandson loved the eggs benedict and from the general response from the other guests the other options were equally appreciated. again great professional service from very attentive waiters and nothing was to much trouble, Onto Dinner, again incredible we went with sharing choice which was an amazing selection of starters, smoked salmon, king prawns, Pate salads and lovely little croutons, the main a Chateaubriand OMG! melt in the mouth deliciousness, with all the usual accompaniments but to a much higher standard than in general. followed by tarte Tatin mmmm incredible. served with our choice of a Pinot noir again great pairing. will be back again and again, Thankyou to all at the Hotel for a wonderful couple of days.

Such a gem! The room was beautifully decorated, lovely and spacious - and the staff were friendly, Our room faced the courtyard, no noise from the road. We ate at the restaurant downstairs, which was brilliant. Great location - easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We will be back.

We came as a family of which part were going to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We were welcomed and given keys to our four rooms immediately. Two in the old part of the hotel and two in the modern block at the back. The rooms were full of character, charm, clean, quite spacious and had everything needed. We ate dinner one evening and the food was excellent. Special mention to the Bar Manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He kept checking on us and arranged the lounge area so we could all sit together and chat. Always cheerful and attentive.

A beautiful cathedral city.

A beautiful cathedral city. We went for the Christmas Market. Pleasantly surprised by how big it was. A lovely mix of stalls with lots of different goods on sale, not your run of the mill stuff. Lots of great shops, restaurants and cafés and everyone was so friendly. Something for everyone here.

Such a beautiful place. Like something from a story book. It seems like a quaint little town more to me than a city. The cathedral was beautiful. Everywhere I wanted to go was within walking distance and id definitely love to return. Everyone was so kind too.

A wonderful place to visit for culture, sights dining or shopping. We did a mystery tour too on our visit. Who was it who had rifled King Henry VIII’s Golden Tankard ? An intriguing five hundred year old mystery that our intrepid team of sleuths set out to solve, with a set of clues, while exploring the historical sights of Winchester; including a few fine ale houses, I might add ! What a cracking day out. Highly entertaining and great fun in equal measure.

We needed accommodation close to Winchester and despite a lot of negative reviews, we booked here, mainly because it was SO much cheaper than anywhere else near Winchester. We’ve been pleasantly surprised and have enjoyed our 5 nights here. The room is really spacious, it’s clean, we have a full length bath, the bed is comfy and the linen is good. There’s a microwave in the foyer, which has been handy. There’s staff are lovely and very helpful.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good, and our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel’s garden is beautiful and adds a lovely touch of calm. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Winchester, yet peaceful. Truly nothing to complain about – we would happily stay again!

Right opposite Marwell zoo so excellent as a base to visit, although we didn't. The room was comfortable and clean. Bed was very big, although the top mattress appeared to be two mattresses together so a ridge in the middle. The swimming pool was clean, water warm. Good to relax. The hotel is well placed to visit Winchester and surrounding countryside. The staff were all pleasant.
