The Grand Hotel Ushba is really beautiful situated in the Becho Vally and offers an ideal starting points for (day or longer) hikes in the area. As a matter of fact, we thought the views from the valley were some of the most stunning we saw during our overall 4 days in Svaneti. The host Richard is an expert on hiking and other outdoor activities in the area and he gave us some really good tips! He also lent us his book with hikes in Svaneti region that was very helpful. We had dinner twice which was not only tasty and exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking, but also in a very nice atmosphere, cozy and with a lot of attention to detail. Breakfast was also great (warm and filling, and also available at 7 am which allowed us to start our hike early). The rooms are clean and cozy, again nicely decorated with great attention to detail.

Murman and his family were great hosts - warm and welcoming, providing excellent (vegetarian) meals and helping us arrange transport to and from the guest house. It is a lovely, relaxing place with a big garden and magnificent views of Ushba mountain and other peaks.

Hosts were extremely welcoming, they gave us refreshments on arrival after a long days travel. The breakfast was amazing and they even cooked it up and hour early for us as we had a lift to catch. Couldn’t recommend this stay enough.

How can I describe this amazing place??? The view was to die for, the room was cozy, warm and had everything we needed, the wifi super strong. Breakfast was rich and tasty, the dinners were delicious, probably the best food we had in Georgia! Ok, those things are to be expected...What is not expected and came as a big surprise, is the warmth of the hosts, the friendly chats around the fire at night, the laughs after all thoise treats of chacha! Mestia itself. Very beautiful city. Hotel manager were very polite. Room were with view to mountain. Comfortable beds. Hotel place is also in good place, further from main street. From balcony you can hear georgians singing in the park :D

Love this place! The stuff is amazing! Breakfast was great every day, with variety of meals and hot drinks. View was amazing from our room. There is central heating system, so you will not get cold. Mattresses and pillows are pure clouds. We was traveling with or frenchie, so there was no extra charge for a dog. Also the place have a bakery and it was warm smell of baked goods all the time, which was extra warming point during cold season.

Mazeri is marvelous place if you want to connect with nature...

Mazeri is marvelous place if you want to connect with nature. everything is authentic and not influenced by technology as it is in metropolitan areas. Air is clean and evening till morning is quiet. Godd place for hiking and camping, near by water falls and Ushba mountain has its impact on the place. I have not hiked until the Glacier however reaching waterfall area and crossing wooden bridges were thrilling enough for me. Just to highlight, as it is country side do not expect to have restaurants or Cafeteria or grocery shops. Locals with guesthouses and English language is not their preferred language. Russian language is commonly understood there. Expect simplicity and infrastructure of basic countryside with no complications. So far I had 3 visits to Mazeri, for sure I would prefer to have my own transportation to match my need and convince. If you would hire a driver there then should negotiate as prices varies and public transportation will be limited. Renting a horse is fun, if you cannot ride then can hire a guide along with the horse with extra pay. Hores rental is not expensive, during my visit about US $38 per day

It was a great trip for all of us.

It was a great trip for all of us. Many thanks to Murman and Bacho for their hospitality. Now we know 100% that Svaneti has not only the most beautiful mountains, but also the most hospitable people. All the conditions were 100% as described, the hosts did everything possible to make our stay with them comfortable. A special thanks for the organization of the birthday party for our friend. In general - everything was very good. Thank you for this stay.
