The owner is very friendly and helpful. We took a wrong way and were stuck in the small rough village road and got lost. The owner showed up and drived us to his guest house. Actually the house is at the upper side of the village and the drive way is much better and easy to go. The day after, my friend had a leg bone broken, again the owner came to meet us at the glacier and arranged the ambulance and rescuers. He's so genuine and did everything for us. We are deeply moved by his kind support. BTW, the house is neat with a kitchen, the food his mother made is great. Its location is a plus, just a few metres away from the church where you'll have a great view of the sunset. We definitely will choose to stay here again.

The family were so kind to us, they prepare delicious food and on our second night even invited us to join them for homemade Khinkali with some friends and other guests. The bar area is super cosy with the log fire, and even though the temperatures were reaching -15 in the night, the bed was comfy and warm. They provide a small heater for the room too which really helps. We really enjoyed our stay here and it's a great location to reach any area of the village on foot.

Best food we had the whole time we were in Svaneti. We were the only people eating dinner that night and there were loads of tasty dishes for us. The host was very nice and although she spoke only a little English she tried to help us with Google translate and her children spoke English. She also helped us organise a taxi back to Mestia. And the Wi-Fi actually worked well!

wonderful, welcoming host, magical location, peaceful , amazing mountain views , on the outskirts of town towards the mountains and glacier, but a quick stroll or drive into town when needed, very cute and clean cottage, in a large field with a couple of horses, an outdoor fires. We also went horse riding arranged through the host- to and from our door . Highly recommend!

Ushguli is a wonderful city with its stunning nature and historical beauty, perfect for resting after long trekking and hiking adventures. Tamar Castle is a must-visit spot. Located at the upper part of the city, it’s reached via a scenic path intertwined with a dried-up riverbed. The view of the city from the castle is breathtaking. Additionally, vibrant wildflowers along the mountains add a colorful charm to the city’s atmosphere. After a 6-day hike, we arranged a taxi back to Mestia with help from the facility where we stayed. It’s also easy to find many taxi drivers in the city square.

Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location.

Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location. Quite simply a dream. It deserves time spent here. More than a day trip. You can hike. You can sit and soak up the unforgettable views. Wandering through Ushguli is like stepping back in time. We stayed for two nights and it was quite simply one of the top highlights of our travels to date. Our mistake: not staying longer.

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend.

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend. But it is cheaper to get there then to return from it to Mestia. You can go hiking to Shkhara glacier by foot or take a horse for half a way.
