Zhabeshi is the first overnight stop on the most common route taken by hikers walking the iconic Mestia-to-Ushguli hike. (There are alternative routes that bypass Zhabeshi.) The village is located in an exquisite valley just below the confluence of the Tviberi and Tsaneri Rivers, nestled under the slopes of Tetnuldi and Banguriani peaks in the Greater Caucasus Range.
