We rented apartments 2 & 3 for a family trip. Klaus was a brilliant host, quick to answer questions ahead of arrival. He arranged to collect us from the airport which also made check-in a breeze. He shared advice for what to see and guidance for the very flexible schedule for National Day. Our return flight was delayed and he kindly allowed us to stay in the apartment until our leaving time and arranged our transfer to the airport. Location was great. 10min walk to the Icefjord Center, 10min to supermarkets and shops. Walking distance to all sites around Ilulissat. We didn't have a car but parking was always available in front. Apartment 3 was perfect for our stay. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and large open living area were perfect for meals and planning our day. It was warm on the cool days, and black out blinds helped us sleep during the midnight sun. Very comfortable adjustable bed, good warm shower. From this upstairs apartment you could see icebergs drifting across the bay. Lovely stay.

The host was very friendly and helped us book a taxi to the airport when we left. The entire house was comfortable and tidy, and we absolutely loved it. On our last night, we even saw the Northern Lights from the rooftop. This is the best place we’ve stayed during all our travels.

It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience you'll see the wales, so a separate trip to watch wales may not be needed. The icefiord remains the most impressive thing to see from a walking distance and also from a boat. Eqi glacier is nice, but less impressive and takes a long time to go there. Icefiord center is an interesting site to visit, as you'll pass the sledge dog keeping site along the way. Do not touch or try to intervene with digs, as this my end lethaly for... them. I found the place terrible for dogs... and any animals in general, as they are kept on chain. However, it is par of the culture and that's something interesting to see.

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale...

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale watching etc, but we felt inclined to go with the local tour operators, who deserve the business, and really do know so much about the area and how to respect the wildlife. Getting around was easy, as it's a small town, taxis aplenty too. We didn't eat out as we were self-catering. Two good supermarkets in the high street. One gripe though is the amount of litter, sometimes the bins were overflowing. I would suggest a town litter pick occasion!

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland.

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland. We have never seen such huge icebers. There are good options to trail in the area (Yellow Trail is the easiest one although is not such easy as it may seen). You move everywhere walking although taxi is not an expensive option. "I love Ilullisat tours" offers very good boat tours. Hangout Bistro is a restaurant with good options for dinner or lunch.

Ilulissat is a city providing all services for tourists what the arctic can offer. Tour guides and equipment for hiking on the ice, flying over it or visit it from the sea. Watching the amazing whales and the breathtaking experience of calving of the glaciers can be accessed from Ilulissat. would strongly recommend Cafe Inuit for their kind service and for the delicious food which offers not only greenlandic but asian treats.

Absolutely gorgeous with the Icebergs, Ice Fjord, glaciers, the seals and whales, calving of ice, kayaking, the wonderful people and the homely feel of Ilulissat. This has been one of the best places in the world that we have visited.

The personnel were very nice and helpful, they picked us up from the airport at midnight. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We liked the common room in which one can stay after check out if needed; moreover, complimentary tea and coffee is available there at all times. Our boat was rebooked last minute and we needed to stay in common space a bit longer to sort out other accommodation - the crew at the hotel was OK with that and even gave us a lift to the other place.

It’s located about 2 kms away from the town centre, facing the fjord/sea. The whole hotel looks new, staff are friendly and welcoming, and the open deck outside the hotel restaurant is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the fjord/sea. The public bus to town stops right outside the hotel main entrance. Perched on a hill, the room windows look out over the fjord/sea, giving unobstructed views of the icebergs during the day and clear views of the aurora at night.

A very comfortable and well located hotel in the heart of Ilulissat. Walkable distance to most things including the magnificent Icefjord and the Icefjord centre, Knud Rasmussen’s house museum, the Inuit Art Gallery, the harbour and more. It also has a restaurant across the road where we had breakfast each morning. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant are so lovely and helpful. The hotel provides a shuttle service.

Free friendly and helpful staff. Excellent choice at breakfast and the other meals I had there were excellent too. The associated saku trip & experience team were super helpful with excellent local knowledge. Recommended both the hotel and saku trip / experience team.
