The house is very spacious and has a lot of extra's like games and toiletries. Also a simple breakfast was provided and there was an espresso machine. As well as a welcoming bottle of wine. We really loved the atmosphere. We ate at the (only) taverna in the village which was abundant. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay a little while longer. Thank you!

A spacious, two level apartment at the top of a hill in a very pleasant small complex comprising a large restaurant with great views of the surrounding hills. The whole complex feels like a hacienda from a Western movie. The owner was extremely helpful, friendly, and patient (we arrived late around midnight after having lost our way, which translated into a quick small meal served on his initiative). The restaurant was absolutely fantastic, with a varying food everyday: it was clearly the choice of the locals. We cannot recommend this place strong enough.

A lovely apartment, recently renovated, in a village where a lot of other buildings are also being renovated, but which hasn't stopped the village keeping its rustic local charm. The hosts were helpful, and we particularly loved the local taverna, where we were made to feel very welcome and 'at home' by both the proprietors and the customers, and the food was fantastic and the whole meal, including drinks, cost €12.50 per head. There were two tavernas and although I can't read Greek and so can't give the address of this one, I have put some photos of the outside - I wholeheartedly recommend it if you stay there (it is in the main part of the village almost dead opposite the shop). I think the thing that struck us most about the village was that although it felt very secluded and remote, and was wonderfully quiet and off the beaten track, it is about as far from Heraklion as Heathrow is from London!
