I highly recommend staying at this amazing place. The room was squeaky clean and was attended every single day. Staff was kind, polite and helpful. Breakfast is served at your room (coffee, orange juice, bottled water, cakes, freshly boiled eggs, toast, bread and toasties along with butter & marmalade) -with just a phone call! We opted for the sea-view room that had two balconies, a kitchen, a small but adorable living room and a bedroom with a king-sized bed. Well air-conditioned rooms and equipped kitchen (great for meal preparation). We were two guests but the apartment could sleep another one on the sofa. Situated close to Amaryntho's centre while avoiding the noise. It's value for money and we will visit them again (hopefully) soon!

The house was much better than what we expected and the photos do not do it justice. Much nicer in reality. The mattress was super comfortable and we had a great sleep. Very clean and the location was superb. There is ample pαrking and in walking distance to shops and beach. The host is super friendly and we will definitely be visiting again.

We vistit the city in October 2025. The town of Amarynthos itself was very boring and most restaurants were closed or had a very limited selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately, we had several experiences of downright rude and poor behavior and service towards us as guests. It was clear that they didn't want more tourists this season.

Amarinthos itself is a bit quiet.

Amarinthos itself is a bit quiet. There is much more going on in the nearby town of Eretria. (I visited Evia for a sea kayaking course in Eretria, and stayed in a hotel in Amarinthos only because it offered better value than many of the hotels in Eretria.)

Pension Posidonia is really beautiful - we had a lovely...

Pension Posidonia is really beautiful - we had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea, surrounded by a garden full of oleander and other flowers. The free sunbeds and umbrellas are on the doorstep, the beach is lovely, and the views are stunning. We swam all day and sunbathed then wandered a 5 minute walk to good seafood restaurants overlooking the sea. Shops are even closer, everywhere was very accessible. Our delightful host recommended Louis, one of the many restaurants, and was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful in every way. She speaks excellent English, and ordered us our taxi to the airport when we - reluctantly! - had to go home. Definitely 5 stars!

Really nice area not far from Athens.

Really nice area not far from Athens. Not glitzy island quite basic and "raw". Not amazing beaches and sea but a short drive from spectacular beaches and stunning nature. The drive to and visit Dragon Houses beautiful.

I never thought that it would be so near to Athens, even for a day tour. The mountain village Gymnos is wonderful with great food and coffee. The only thing that was difficult was finding a parking place.

A quiet destination and only for a few days of vacation.

A quiet destination and only for a few days of vacation. It has taverns and bars in the center of the village, in front of the sea with a nice view. The beaches are marginally satisfactory. Nothing to do with "blue waters" as they present them in travel guides and leave us to imagine them.

Excellent hotel with excellent location located,extremely clean & comfortable . As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff . Food was unexpectedly tasty and with a variety of choices . Staff was amazing and super friendly especially the awesome manager of the hotel, Paul. Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality.

This was our second trip to stay in Alice House..We love Amarynthos.It is quiet and friendly and everything is close at hand...supermarket,beach and tavernas. Alice House has everything we need,and the swimming pool was a lovely bonus. The owners are friendly and welcoming......
