FAQs about hotels in Athens

Dynamic City With 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history while embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you'll find tavernas serving tantalizing souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds of the city center.

The changing of the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here, Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The upscale districts Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens has some of the finest museums in the world, such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Great weather and shorter lines in late October till mid November. Beautiful city with many attractions. Food is relatively chip but you would need entry fee for everything so that might become your highest expense. I would skip paying for entry to the Temple of Zeus area.

I love Athens but HATED this hotel and it’s dishonest pictures which I believed to be accurate, far from it It was a dump note the make shift wardrobe perched on a chair. The ugly depressing room for which I paid an over $1000 for 3 nights. Received nothing refund. The advertised room looked clean and airy with a balcony. Deceptive advertising. Awful experience. Shameful and cutthroat. I have contacted booking.com for help but there has been no effort to advise or support me in seeking a refund. I will think twice in future about booking through this organisation as they offer no protection.

Athens was lovely. it was on the shoulder season, so there were not as many tourists, but still bustling. Shops and restaurants, museums all open. So much to see. The Centre is so walkable and views from each corner. The people were friendly and the other tourists chatty. Also you can organize day trips to heaps of places. However, i wouldn't go to any of the islands in November ( we went to Hydra for a day trip, and half the island was closed, and not many tourists. quite disappointing as it is one of our favourite places.

The weather was beautiful for November, The historical aspect of Athens is stunning. We took a day tour to Corinth and if we had more time we would like to have made some more bus tours to other attractions.

Absolutely loved Athens, we didn't know what to except but we found the locals very friendly, tons of restaurants, bars and shopping. Sunshine in the face. And the best is that you can see the Parthenon from any place which was so nice.

I had a wonderful stay at this flat in Athens! The location was absolutely perfect – close to restaurants, bars, a supermarket, and a bus stop. It was only a 20-minute walk to Plaka and the Acropolis, which made exploring the city so easy, and just a 30-minute bus ride to the beach. The flat itself was very easy to find, beautifully kept, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I truly recommend this place, and if I ever come back to Greece, I would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is very close to the metro, so this is the best way to explore Athens. You can reach the city centre in ten minutes. The airport is cca 1 hour from here. It is on a relatively quiet street, on the first floor. Well equipped, the kitchen has everything you need. AC, smart TV in every room, strong wifi. I travel to Greece several times a year, but this is one of the best places I've lived. Highly recommended.

Good basic hotel from which to explore Athens. V short walk to Syntagma Square for bus/metro links to airport. Also an easy walk to ancient sites and museums (Acropolis etc) and to the hive of tourism activity which is the Plaka. Better breakfast than we expected for the price. Quite a quiet street; we didn’t notice any traffic noise at night.

The pink lemon hotel is well looked after and a clean place to stay. It's very quiet and in a good location with a short walk to the market. It's about a half hour walk to the ancient Greece Acropolis area of the plaka neighborhood. Very friendly and helpful staff
