A charming and bustling little town with plenty of restaurants for choice and lots of shops. Some are selling the usual tourist merchandise, but there are a few quality independent shops. We were struck by the friendliness of staff in restaurants and shops. It's a small kind of posh place with cute beaches.
It's a small kind of posh place with cute beaches. The main character of the place are the surrounding mountains and vast sea. There are a lot of restaurants, but everywhere is peaceful and the music isn't loud. We stayed in the more quiet area, after you pass the harbour and walk through the whole beach, then up in the mountains. The whole walk from our hotel to the Agia Galini's centre was less than 20 minutes. We are mostly in the Tropica restaurant which is the most beautiful one. Right after the bridge, when you cross the canal. The owner was funny and polite, the food was great and the atmosphere with the sea view was so charming. All other places were fine too. There is no fast food in Agia Galini, so prepare yourselves to eating in restaurants or book meals where you stay.Guest review byMarijanaSerbia - 10.0

Great place we went out of season but there was still enough bars and tavernas open, but many more to open and they looked good also. We also had two dogs with us and we and them were welcome everywhere. Could not fault the friendly people and the hospitality we had at our hotel and bars and tavernas was first rate. Lovely fishermen’s town with great tavernas and bars/cafes. Chilled and relaxing atmosphere. Very nice beach, again with good tavernas serving delicious Greek and international food. Walking distance between town, beach and hotels. Hidden gem for me.Guest review byMirjam

The beach is within a 5-minute walking distance, and so is the rest of the village, where one can find plenty of shops and restaurants. Very quiet and nice place. Elena and Harris were fantastic hosts and provided plently of information and suggestions to have a nice stay but also on places to see on the rest of my trip in Crete.
