Most persons come to Delphi for the day from Athens. We stayed over night. The town is small and the restaurant we found was a mom & pop place which added some charm, but after visiting the archaeological site and museum, we could have easily driven to Athens and stayed there, so it depends on one's itinerary as to the need to stay in Delphi overnight.Guest review bySteveUnited States - 6.0

Incredible ancient sites of course, but be aware that everything is hugely overpriced which you expect in a touristy place - but these prices begger belief!! Get your lunch/groceries at a supermarket on your way here as the one we saw was shut forcing us into ridicuously expensive alternative. There isn't a car park for the sites so you have to dump your car wherever you can find a spot on the side of the road and walk - don't waste your time looking for it!Guest review byPhilippaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A quieter town and a great experience seeing and experience the greek way of life. We love the history the sites and museum, hiking and the mountains so ticked all our boxes. So many lovely restaurants, the food is beautiful and our hotel was just perfect for our stay. We stayed at Acropole Hotel and had an amazing meal at en Delphi, located just near the bus stop. The ancient site and museum is one of our two favourite sites in Greece. The views are magnificent, the ancient site is incredible to see, has good facilities, which other sites lack, is well maintained and looked after. We would happily go back and spend even more time there, it was just unfortunate that we had to leave to get to our next destination. Delphi was present and important through the history of ancient and classical Greece. Major events that shaped the social and cultural developments of Greece, and the battles and games remembered by the Greeks, have had connections or left records here. I learned about this place from the history reading for my travel preparation, and it was obvious it should not be missed. Getting some reading before going to the temple and the museum is definitely a good idea. We got a twin room here in which we were most comfortable. Everything was clean and well-presented. The hotel as a whole is quite evocatively decorated which added to our stay. The breakfast was both generous and delicious. The famous archaeological site of Delphi is remarkable and no more than a pleasant 20-minute walk away on the other side of the small town.
