We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Glykeria Hotel — a true gem in Crete! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The host was incredible: always available, genuinely kind, and eager to help us with anything we needed. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and even helped us shape our vacation itinerary with local tips and recommendations we wouldn’t have found on our own. What makes this place even more special is that it’s a family-run business with a beautiful history that dates back to the grandparents. Hearing their story added such a personal, authentic touch to our stay. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable, with an unforgettable view of the sea — we started each morning with coffee on the balcony, soaking it all in. (Yes, coffee was included in the room, which we really appreciated!) Although breakfast wasn’t included, we happily ate at their restaurant across the street every morning — everything was fresh, local, and absolutely delicious. In fact, we ended up eating all our meals there during our 3-day stay because the food was just that good. Every dish was a highlight, and you could really feel the love and care that went into the cooking. If you’re looking for a peaceful, heartfelt experience in Crete with great hospitality, views, and food — Glykeria Hotel is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

The position is perfect, it has private parking and very nice vegetation surrounding the terrace. For the price, interiors are very well cured and every room has private access by the terrace, very pleasent. the owner is super kind and helpful. We will come back for sure!!

The hotel is very nice, good installations and all you need. What really really stood out was the treatment by the personell; Thanisios una Harris in reception were super friendly and helpfull; Kostas in the evening and Isabelle for brealfast in the restaurant gave us a 5 star service. They were the ones that served us but the whole restaurant crew was very fortxoming. Kostas was especially nice, giving us recommendations and tips about what to do in the region. Efharistó Kostas! Also: the feta in fylos was the best we have eaten so far in all of Greece. Hope to come back, thanks a lot!

Amazing apartmant/room with everything you need for the few nights staying. Very clean, special small "kitchen" corner where you can make tea or small breakfast (local mini market just few steps from place where you can buy everything you need). Private Parking in front of the rooms. Petfriendly, my two dogs was welcome free of charge. I am very happy about this new amazing place close of Elafonissi and sure we will be came back.

Amazing place. It is new and fancy with a very small private pool that we enjoyed more than expected. The host was amazing and very helpful, taking care of our wellbeing all the time. The place is perfect also if you want to go there for a creative solo retreat. Nice beaches all around.

House was really clean, we have been nicely welcomed by the owner, with explanations about everything we needed to know. We felt like home, enjoying « slow life » by the pool. The house has everything you need for up to 6 people. The location is not in the village so it really calm and quiet, but at walking distance (7 min) from nice tavernas.

The beach is amazing, one of the most beautiful we've ever visited. Water is turquoise and sand is truly pink at the water's edge. Loved long walks, shore swims and the sand was amazing. Next to the beach is a conservation area that is really lovely and I enjoyed the walk! Walk across the relatively shallow water to the island to the right of the main beach. Get there early especially on weekends else all the lounge chairs will be taken! Do NOT park at the first parking lot as you enter town, the rates are MUCH higher than the $5 lot that comes next!

If you don’t stay overnight in the village and come by car, there are plenty of parking spots (3–5 € per day). The beach is beautiful — best to visit early in the morning (8–11) or later in the afternoon (16–19) when it’s less crowded. A small disadvantage is that there are only two tavernas nearby, and the mini market sells water at a higher price than elsewhere in Crete.

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling...

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling with young children since the water is shallow and warm. For my personal taste the main beach is too crowded and touristy and would prefer quieter more rugged beaches, but it was a great destination traveling as a family with a toddler because it was safe and clean and we were staying at a hotel within walking distance from the beach.

Great beach with varied water levels and temperatures from 20 to 30o C in the summer I’d say. Walk and swim around to find your perfect spot. The sand is wet in most of the places. A lot of nature but heavily visited especially on Mondays and Tuesdays from what it seemed to is during our stay. Two beach bars, two restaurants above, several room rental places, two supermarkets and some shops. Prices are a bit high from Crete, especially in the supermarkets, but still good options. The connection to Kissamos and Chaina is not bad, please not there is a new motorway section in the mountains that bypasses Topolia and its gorge tunnel that is not in Google maps yet.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. The beach is very crowded. The only alternative beach within a radius of 20 km has natural shade from trees (convenient in the wind). In case of wind, it is also quite crowded.

Elafonissi beach is beautiful but can get very crowded. Paddle over to the island for more secluded areas. It is well worth the effort The taverna at Elafonissi village is excellent value for food and drinks with friendly staff who never make you feel hurried

We stayed at Elafonisi Pear Apartments for one night and everything was perfect! The place was spotless, brand new, and very close to the beach. The view was absolutely stunning — especially the sunset! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Elafonisi

A great apartment with a terrace and a beautiful view of the sea and the monastery. It's close to shops, tavernas, and, of course, Elafonisi Beach. The hosts are very kind and friendly. A very enjoyable stay - we recommend it!
