A picturesque old town that has maintained its character (unlike nearby places like Itea). There is not a lot to do; a couple of days would suffice for Galaxidi; however, you can use it to explore the area. For example the orqacle of Delphi is 30 mins away. Arachova is not far. Nafpaktos abotu 40 mins away. So Galaxidi is a great place to use as a base. In Galaxidi itself there are plenty of good restaurants and tavernas as well as bars and coffee places. Nice little seaside town which is kind of frozen in earlier times. Has a great row of tavernas to match the stunning houses of seagoing folk who inhabited the place in former times. (Word has it that the only way in and out of town in those times was by sea.) On the whole, nice people and there are some tremendous places to eat in Galaxidi. The air-conditioning was very welcome as the weather was very hot in July. The house is right in the middle of Galaxidi and in close walking distance to the harbour, cafes and shops.
