The place is based next to the mountain rock with a nice view :) it’s a cozy room where we stayed , very clean and equipped with towels , hair dryer , iron , coffee tea , few snacks as cookies . Fridge is also there so you can keep what you might need. Air condition system is working as well. Overall it’s a very well prepared place for its cost - very decent and has everything essential for a few nights stay .

Beautiful brand new bed and breakfast, spotless clean, rooms tastefully decorated, very comfortable. Espresso machine in the room, rituals products in the bathroom. Beautiful view right under the rocks of Meteora. Delicious breakfast that have different options each day. We encountered car trouble on our way to Meteora and the owner Stergios helped to connect us with local car service to look at our car on the weekend. Amazing stay through and through and I can't recommend Mones enough.

Love the location! We hiked everywhere, even to the Varlaam Monastry. The house was very clean! Even though it's small, it has everything you need! Actually, it was bigger than expected :) Love the bed, love the pillows! The "basement" balcony was very enjoyable too! We sat there to eat fruits and enjoyed the views! Thank you!

Location was perfect and it was very well presented. Great attention to detail throughout and very stylish with modern facilities. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. We have travelled throughout Europe for the last few months and these were the kindest hosts we have experienced. Highly recommend this property.

Lovely apartment in natural shade, so even when 40 degrees outside, it was still cool inside. The owner is extremely helpful, kind, and considerate. Location is great too. 2 minute walk from village centre which has some great restaurants. You can also visit a few of the monastries/nunnery on foot if you like. Bigger town of Kambala is 15 min walk away. I'd recommend staying at least 3 nights here.

    A magical area of Greece worth spending 2 - 3 full days or more. The Monestaries, the Hermit Caves, Prehistoric Theopetra Cave, the early Greek Orthodox Churches, such as the byzantine church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary , and the Hellenistic and Roman ruins - are all worth spending the time to visit and learn more about them.

    Kastraki the town was not welcoming at all.

    Kastraki the town was not welcoming at all. It seems that they hate tourists. Very rude waiters and restaurant/cafe owners. We stopped at 3 different places-all with the same unwelcoming, rude, mean attitude. With the exception of Pub38-where the owner was excellent to us and where we eventually ate dinner after leaving from another taverna up the street where we were treated rudely. The hotel we stayed at was fine. It was just the town businesses, which is a shame because the monasteries and scenery is gorgeous. We visited the monasteries and took our pictures and left a day early. Went to Nafplio instead where every cafe, restaurant, business was wonderfully welcoming and lovely to us and showed us the Greek hospitality that we were hoping for in Kastraki. Unfortunately it didn’t happen for us in Kastraki. They need to learn how to treat the visitors.

    Peaceful little greek village on the way to the monasteries.

    Peaceful little greek village on the way to the monasteries. The local bus that stops by every monastery stops by the church and is the cheapest way to visit them. People there are very nice and helpful.

    I stayed here for two nights and could have used a third.

    I stayed here for two nights and could have used a third. I recommend going to the Grand Meteora Monstery as it is the oldest and largest. Go early when it opens up at 9:30 am to beat any crowds. I visited St. Stephans Monastery and you don't have to walk stairs there but they get big crowds in the afternoon with bus tours. I would recommend buying your groceries at Lidl which is on the main road int town. There are tours by bus or train from Athens but it is more convenient to rent a car.
