Sapphire Horizon is a hidden gem in Kissamos and highly recommended for all types of holidays, whether as a couple or a family like us. It was the perfect base for us to visit the nearby top beaches such as Balos, Elafonisi, and Falassarna, and to enjoy dinner in Kissamos or at a nearby taverna in the evenings. What stood out most was the exceptionally friendly and service-oriented staff – true to the motto “small but excellent.” The breakfast was great, with something for everyone, and even snacks during the day were available. A clear 100% recommendation from us!

The BEST hotel in Greece!! A place that truly represent what true hospitality is. It was over expectation. Niki, Katerina and Giannos are friendly, nice and super helpful, they made us feel like home and we miss them already. The rooms are very clean, love their housekeeping service. Location is perfect and we had the BEST shower in Greece. Highly recommend to stay here.

This Family run Hotel is a really good find.Everything was just perfect. The Family and staff were exceptional.They certainly understand the meaning of service. Were quick to repond to any communication, friendly and couldnt do enough for their guests .A full buffet breakfast ,(eat as much as you want,)was offered daily with such a wide choice.The, food was excellent.The Hotel is right on the beach so you ate out on the patio every morning. One step off the patio they have umbrellas and lounging chairs on the beach that belong to the Hotel. Rooms were clean ,well furnished and towels were changed daily. We were sad to leave this small Hotel and its Owner, Family and Staff. Short walk to Kissamos Waterfront,but to get the full benefit of staying in this town you need a car to get around unless you only want to relax at the Hotel and pop into Town

The hotel has a great location—not far from Balos Beach and the city. The rooms are spacious, with a nicely renovated bathroom and a cosy balcony. It’s situated right by a beautiful, quiet beach, which made the stay even more relaxing. The pool and beach area are both very pleasant. Free parking is available close to the hotel, which was super convenient. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended, it was good value for money as well.

For those who want a quiet get-away and yet close shopping, Kissamos is hard to beat. Close to the port for Balos-Gramvousa excursions and secluded for a wonderful relaxed time with your loved one. Gramvousa Restaurant is a must, a short drive to a memorable dining experience. Loved snorkeling and fish sightings around rocky areas. Pictures cannot capture the panoramic breath-taking setting.

Not really a resort, but a working town, has a small, pretty square with a few bars and tavernas. A few good tavernas and bars down on the seafront. A lot more could be made of the beach with a little effort.

Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local...

Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local charm. The nightlife was a pleasant surprise, with cozy bars and lively tavernas where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Evening walks through the town square and the nearby streets filled with local shops and traditional products were some of the highlights of our stay. It's a great place for couples looking for a laid-back yet authentic Cretan experience.

There is an instagram picture worthy and tasteful Gramboussa Restaurant in the village Kaliviani with amazing service. The village is authentic, with historic buildings and a special aura. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to stop in Kissamos.

Kissamos itself as a town is nothing special but it has some seafront tavernas and its location makes it a good base to explore the local area - in particular to take a boat trip around to Balos bay and lagoon which is highly recommended, including a stop at Gramvousa island to walk up to the castle. It's also a short drive over the hill to Falasarna bay for a closer nice beach option with sunbeds. Kissamos beach is rather scraggy looking compared to other more scenic options locally!

Hotel was really lovely, just a little walk from the town centre. Lovely setting with an outdoor bar with grass area facing a private beach area. The room was a great size and very comfortable. The staff went out of their way and were extremely accommodating. Best of all was the buffet breakfast which was way above our expectation. Probably the best breakfast we have had in Crete. Would definitely stay here again.

Kissamos is not the best place, but convenient to reach some of the best beaches: Balos, Elafonissini, Falasarna. The hotel is a 12’ walking distance from the beach front with many restaurants. Very modern, comfortable, clean, spacious, with a sea view, direct access to the beach, nice staff….and a perfect breakfast in a very nice area.

Eleni was an amazing, caring and cordial host and really took care so our stay was the best it could be. The location is close to the best beaches in Crete and the nearby town of Kissamos, while still being in the countryside, with great view of the mountains.
