Eleni, the hostess, is warm and welcoming and does everything she can to make one feel comfortable. You would need to travel a long way to find such well-appointed accommodation in such a wonderful location with such a relaxing atmosphere. It's a brilliant gem and I thoroughly recommend it.

EVERYTHING! The location was perfect, tavernas all around and very close, and the beach is in a 3 minute walking distance. Everything was thought for, there was more than you would need for the kitchen utilities, the outside area etc. overall it was perfectly equipped. There are multiple chilling areas on the balconies and in the yard. We were greeted by nice welcoming snacks and drinks.

Probably one of the nicest place in Crete.

Probably one of the nicest place in Crete. In the south-east this small village with harbor and several taverns direct on the sea, which serve excellent food at a reasonable price has no overtourism until now. At the beautiful 3 km sandy beach, many very nice private App direct on the beach or above the harbor in the old town offer perfect locations to stay. Only at the end of the sandy beach away from the rest of accommodations a hotel complex offers an all inclusive stay.

We went out of season, reason being work from April until...

We went out of season, reason being work from April until November. It was just what we were looking for quiet, peaceful. A few bars for drinks, cocktails and a few places to eat. Most others were closed, but really did not matter to us. Ideal base for visiting Vai beach and other places of interest.

Beautiful place to stay, relaxed but with a good choice of places to walk, eat and take in the sun. Try The Green Beach, it has a small restaurant down partly on the beach. A lovely quiet place to read a book in peace with crystal clear sea.

Makrygialos is absolutely lovely.

Makrygialos is absolutely lovely. The main beach is great and is perfect for children. We ate out every lunch and dinner time. Fantastic selection of restaurants. Found them very reasonable; you can eat cheaply or spend more if you wish. You can walk around Makrygialos very easily and everything you need is there. You won't find nightclubs or noisy bars! It is very much a family holiday environment. You need a car to get there or a taxi and definitely if you want to do some sightseeing.

Lovely peaceful place with a safe clean beach and plenty of places to eat. I don't think that there is a more friendly place in Crete and I am only sorry that it took us so long to find it. We are going to try and visit every year for as long as we are able to.

Gianna was great! We had a problem with car rental, so we arrived later than expected. She told us to don't worry about that, just to call her 30 minutes before our arrival in Makry Gialos and she was there waiting for us. She always made us feel welcome. The appartment is cool, greek style as we wanted, clean and confortable. Clean toals and sheets every 2 days. We loved the location, walking distance to Makry Gialos beach village.

Very clean, high quality apartment equipped with everything you need for your holiday, very comfortable king sized bed, plus a single bed in a partitioned off area of the main bedroom fully equipped kitchen, everything as described and as per photos, very friendly host who is always on hand to help and advise. Great location. Highly recommended. Best accommodation we have had anywhere in Greece. Will definitely be back.

Nice spacious house with an amazing view over Makry Gialos and the surrounding area. Comfortable beds and soft towels were great. Insect screens on windows and terrace doors were very helpful. Lovely pool and outside seating area, taking full advantage of the view.
