The apartment are located right by the sea. Quiet place. The apartment are spacious and equipped with everything necessary for living. Communication with the hostess is very good. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Shop, taverns, bus stop nearby. 10 minutes by car to the center of the resort. Yes, and a compliment from the hostess awaited us in the apartments. We really liked it!

Amazing experience My stay at Amira hotel was absolutly great. The hotel is brand new, meaning all the facilities are in a perfect shape. It is even better than the photos. Best of all is the staff, very kind, helpful, smiling,  dedicated to your needs and to make your stay the best possible. I had the good surprise to be upgraded (without asking maybe due to low season?) to a room with sea front view, which was absolutly great. The room is decorated with taste, cleanned every day, with good bedding. The swimming pool area is really nice, and the access to the beach is easy. There is also an inside heated pool, very nice. The beach is clean, has a beautiful view on the mountains on the west, the water is really clean and safe. You can see a beautiful sunset every day. The main restaurant included in the half board is good from my experience of such hotels: tasty, varied and fresh. I strongly recommand the "gourmet" restaurant, the Kritamo: excellent food and large portions with a top class service. The spa is beautiful, good massages, great staff. You can also enjoy sauna and hammam for free, just need to make a booking. It has been a long time I didn't enjoy such a good stay and such a high value for price, thank you very much to all the Amira Team.

Breakfast was excellent, lady behind the counter makes fresh products all the time. At the reception the ladies were really nice. Personnel, specially at the pool bar/restaurant made our day, one place where i would like to go again. The level of their restaurant is one of the best we had during our three week stay in the island, just marvelous cuisine.

The hotel and its facilities are excellent. The staff is very nice, rooms are big enough, there are 2 swimming pools and 2 bars plus the beach with the sea. Still, on top of this their restaurant is the most excellent - extreme wide variety of foods, very good quality and every night they offer a dedicated cuisine (like seafood, bbq, japanese food etc.). Most of the guests are from Germany, there were some from UK and the rest is not much.

We had the best experience at The syntopia, blown away about the service, soooo good food, drinks, room and hospitality. The Syntopia is really the hotel to go to if you want a relaxing and luxury experience. Big thanks to Michael in the reception for taking such good care of us and made us keep our room full day for our late departure, really recommend to take the all inclusive part, then you will have the big range of drinks during the full day and the food was way over all our expecations. Also Harah from the pool service who always had a smile on her face and kept us hydrated by the pool every day. Rooms are also very high designed with inspiring interior. Highly recommend to book this hotel, we will defintely come back! Thank you, Frida & Olof

Very near the sea. 2 very good supermarkets, bakery and chemist. Good restaurants. Not hectic busy so excellent for relaxing break.Local villages of Asteri and Chamalevri within walking distance. As is Pagkalochori which has Asani monastery. Wonderful authentic Cretan experience.

People say not much there, but we felt it had everything there. Good supermarket, beach good as not spoiled by sun beds all over so you can actually see the beach. Several great bakeries and some good restaurants to choose from. Bus stop into city if needed.

Sfakaki is a nice area, a few tavernas with lovely food and great staff. Beach is about a 15 min walk. Supermarkets and coffee shop a short distance away. Regular bus into Rethymno. Options for day trips available.

Beware of false advertising. Booking.com said the room had a sea view and showed pictures of this from a balcony. When I arrived the reception staff was rude, dismissive and said the view was a “side sea view”. This meant lean to the side of the seating area, stand on your tippy toes and crane your head to see the ocean. I specifically chose the hotel for the sea view. They lied. They tried to tell me it was my problem.

Nikos and Tonya are lovely hosts, very communicative and welcoming. We stayed in an apartment no.102. Big apartment with a separate bedroom and a huge balcony with a view towards the sea and the hills. The shower is very good, hot and powerful. The hotel has a nice swimming pool. Located 10kms from Rethymnon in an area with many new developments.

We stayed for 10 days with family. Everything was nice. Good food, nice beach, helpful and friendly stuff, it's great that the hotel is fighting the "towel mafia" in the mornings. It’s a good place if you like a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle. Room was clean, good AC, cosmetics were refilled every day.

Nice hotel on a beautiful place, kind and helpful staff. The bathroom should be renovated, but the room was good and clean. Food was OK, but not too varied for children. I enjoyed the stay here, would definitely recommend. :)
