We booked at midday for a stay that evening. Super deal including breakfast so were not expecting much and it was great. Fabulous greeting by friendly, helpful smiley receptionist. We were so excited to find we had been given a room with a view and balcony too. Beds were very comfy. Breakfast was very varied and local. We parked just up the road and the start if the Meteora 6 Monasteries Walk starts at the top of that road. The receptionist (who has lived in UK) was also a delight this morning. We literally just had a fabulous, sudden, wonderful 24 hours and we were very happy with our hotel choice.

Ziogas Rooms is located in the traditional village of Kastraki, surrounded by the rocks of Meteora. All rooms have a balcony, with stunning area views. There is free Wi-Fi and parking.

The staff from reception to the servers in the restaurant are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread was good. The outdoor garden with table was charming especially when the hotel is lit at night. Hot tub was fantastic for relaxing after a day at the monasteries.

This was a really good find for our overnight stay, we didn’t want to stay near the tourist spots at Meteora, didn’t know much about this town, but if you want to experience some small town genuine Greek life, please visit this place and the accommodation was I’m assuming a 5 star hotel? I don’t usually stay in 5 star hotels in Western countries but for the price that was a bargain! Being a Kiwi and not understanding the local business hours, we found a restaurant down the road, the town square was closed, he gave us a huge plate of lamb chops, a huge salad with a large block of Feta, back home in NZ that Feta would have cost us half the price of the meal! I’m assuming it’s not a tourist town ( I could be wrong) but it was fantastic value for money, also got a workout in downstairs at the gym.Great service, lovely lady who helped us, possibly the highlight of our 1 week in Greece, you can’t beat those of the beat non tourist spots!
