The apartment was the highest quality of all places we stayed in Crete and even in general when we traveled around the europe. There was everything we needed there and more. Everything looked new, modern, clean. The hosts were friendly. The view (mountains ahead) from enormous balcony was stunning and it was a pleasure to eat breakfasts or dinners there.

Extraordinary hospitality from the owners. The house was spacious, equipped with everything we needed and more. Location close to restaurants, bars and the Saturday fair in Moires. Few minutes by car to the archeological sites of Phaistos and Gortyna. Would sincerely recommend.

We were in Crete in 7 places, little roadtrip. It was one of the two best places where we stopped. We loved that this house is in little village and you can feel peace and real Crete. Owner was very nice and caring. The house was very clean, tasteful and oranized. There was all what you need. Even washing machine. Detailed instructions for everything. My husband and doughter enjoied the really good gym in your own courtyard! Car is in your own garden and that was very comfortable. You have there two floors and your own yard. Two bathrooms (if you have teenage child you understand!!! :)). There were sunbeads. Very safe place! Only a little drive with car and there are food store and nice tavernas, too. Very good place to visit Matala beach. Roads are good and safe. It was my dreamhouse in vecation! Could have been there longer and I would visit again if I will go back in Crete. I recommend this house for my friends.

Excellent lodging. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. It is an ideal place to rest and cook your own food. Stela is very kind and gave us very accurate information about the lodge and made us feel at home. The local people were very hospitable and, in addition to serving us very cordially, they offered us drinks and local food. They also gave us valuable information to enjoy our visit to the island such as the location of beaches and places of interest. We are very satisfied. The people of this community are Kind and have lot of beautiful landscapes. Stela was one of the best host that we ever have We will come back :)

The village is peaceful, full of charm, and perfectly located for exploring Crete. It has everything you need within walking distance — a grocery store, bakery, crepe shop, and several places to eat. The people here are incredibly welcoming, and we experienced true Greek hospitality and kindness. It’s a place with character, where you can relax and enjoy local life, yet still be within easy driving distance of all the island’s main attractions.

I loved the serenity. It was a perfect escape from the City.

I loved the serenity. It was a perfect escape from the City. A night without the usual mod cons is quite OK. The trout from the local restaurants was perfect for dinner. I would suggest avoiding the heat of Summer.

Very peaceful location. Authentic unspoilt village. It was like stepping back in time. No touristy stuff at all..not even a souvenir shop as far as I could see.Surroundings are incredible. I was a solo traveller and felt very much at home there.. It'd a big draw for walkers..I just wanted to chill and enjoy the views .

Zaros is a village in the mountains ,it has the famouse lake of Zaros and the spring and the famous water of Zaros. It has traditional food and helpful lokal people. You can visit in the summer as well in the winter.

This came a bit randomly in our trip and we’re glad it did. We loved Zaros for both the warmth of its people and the beauty of its decor. Our hike in Rouvas was great and every encounter was like it was family members. One of the highlights of our trip to Creta. If you like getting closer to people and their culture it’s a must on your list. If you’re into more attractions or shopping this one is not for you.

A very nice area of olive groves and brush from 500 m up where you can go hiking right from the hotel (Agios Ethimnios, Rouvas Gorge) or from Lake Votomos. You can also visit monasteries (in particular Vrontisi monastery). Plenty of good and very affordable tavernas around.

We very much enjoyed this paradise for the second time. The filoxenia of the family has no limits. Many thanks to Evi, Jorgos, Nikos and the staff at the taverna. The beautiful sound of the waterfalls of Zaros and the garden with roses and lovely trees make you feel relax and give you a good mood. They drove us to the lake, where you can admire nature and trouts. At the lake they also have a taverna. From the large swimming pool you can also enjoy the mountains. We certainly will come back this year.

I loved everything about this hotel. Our room was quite large with a big brass bedstead and a great view out over the countryside. All that we could hear were chickens, goats and the odd bark from a dog. Breakfast was exceptional with so much to choose from that we couldn't eat it all. And then we were given a paper bag so that we could take away anything left over for later. There is even a little lift to help with getting our bags up and down from the room.

This was one of the best hotel experiences of our lives. I cannot recommend staying here enough. It was a magical place, and we felt so welcome! So beautiful, and the breakfast far exceeded our expectations. The animals were lovely, and everything was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!
