The hosts met us, showed us all the details of the accommodation in detail. I want to note the cleanliness and readiness of the accommodation. We liked the wonderful and cozy yard. There was a place to leave the car and spend time in nature by the fire, and a picnic in the fresh air. It was warm, clean, good internet, and a lot of pleasant things in the accommodation. Great for family vacation to visit the area and enjoy the lakeside for 3-5 days. You can spend half days visiting area and half days at the beach. Lake is shallow (1,2m deep) for over 150m from shore. Grass beach is excellent for games and relaxing. Restaurants and shops on the beach. You can easily discover the Balaton Lake area from here. There is a view tower with lake museum 12 min drive away. It also has a nice playground for kids. Ferry crossing to Tihany peninsula can be reached by ferry which is 25min from the village. Nice experience for children. Tihany village is beautiful, with nice view over lake. Excellent restaurant for lunch. Szigligeti Castle is about 1h20mim drive away. Great ruin to visit with children. Steep climb, interesting explanations on the history of the region and castle. At the bottom of the castle is the best ice cream shop of all the lake area :).

Anyone who enjoys tasting fish around Lake Balaton should...

Anyone who enjoys tasting fish around Lake Balaton should definitely visit the Halvödör restaurant in Szemes on the free beach. Quality dishes made from excellent ingredients, a riot of flavors, an extremely friendly, direct owner and chef. We tasted the "Bujdosó" sparkling wine with the fish. As an addition, we also got a nice sunset. Unforgettable!

Great atmosphere, beautiful apartments.

Great atmosphere, beautiful apartments. I saw two; one was well-designed, but the toilet in the second was much too small. However, this second apartment had two beds that could be used individually, which is often needed by older people or those with disabilities. The Wi-Fi only started working after several days. Very well located for exploring Hungary.

Balatonszemes is a pretty little town for people who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Lake Balaton and prefer quieter spots. Everything you need is there, but in a much more peaceful setting. Highly recommended for relaxation away from the noise and bustle. There's a great fish stall on the beach with fresh pike from Lake Balaton! Add a frocca and some white bread – delicious!

A small to medium-sized, rather quiet town, not overrun by...

A small to medium-sized, rather quiet town, not overrun by tourists. Nevertheless, there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The small train station makes it easy to explore other places without a car. Excellent value for money! Even a bit cheaper than in the more well-known towns around Lake Balaton.

A village with a lot of value, excellent for unique...

A village with a lot of value, excellent for unique experiences, and yet not at the exorbitant prices of Lake Balaton. The adventure bath was fantastic, and you could get in for a very good price. The Kistücsök is impressive. It's true, it's not cheap, but we knew that because you can find out about everything in advance. There are also two museums, with particularly valuable collections. Our accommodation was perfect. We will definitely go back.

Marina apartman hotel is located at the very heart of Balatonszemes, both Marina and beach are only 1-2 minutes of walking distance, as well as some really nice places for Pizza (Kisnápoly), Café (Marina) or Restaurant (Pékbisztró). Apartman offers comfortable and safe parking, really nice swimming pool, besides the apartman itself. Apartman had been beautiful, clean and well equipped, with AC in each room, lake-view terrace. Washing machine had been a nice surprise given my passion for running.

Spacious and modern room with a balcony, very friendly staff, superb breakfast. The location is also good, the train station can be reached with a 7-8 minute walk. Hotel guests probably have priority when making a reservation at their famous restaurant next door as they ask you to mention that on the online form; for one I had no trouble getting a reservation in the afternoon for the same evening.

atmosphere, the interior design, location – so near by the beautiful shoreline. thoughtful details & well equipped with everything you need, even extras such as a picnic blanket, made our stay very very comfortable. the Village Szemes beats all the other ones on the same shore hands down, much cuter and more authentic while at the same time very well kept

The view from the balcony was amazing, the whole hotel was furnished in a very modern style. The wellness facility has got everything needed, the saunas are perfect. Both the breakfast and the dinner were delicious, with a huge variety of dishes to choose from. I highly recommend this place!
