Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Amed is one of my favourite places I have visited in Bali!
Amed is one of my favourite places I have visited in Bali! I love that the reefs are right in front of the beach, you don’t need to take a boat or guide, just jump straight in to see so many fish and turtles! I went diving and I wish I stayed longer to explore more. The people are super kind and helpful. It is a little hard to get around though since there are no Grabs. If you can learn, it’s best to rent a bike. But other than that, take your time to explore Amed!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own transport, expect to pay high prices for transport compared to other parts of Bali. Also people there seem a bit sad and not as friendly and happy as other parts of Bali. The beach is nice and the place is very quiet and not overcrowded, which is great but if you are looking for that lovely Balinese culture and hospitality, you might struggle to find it here.Guest review bySaharAustralia - 6.0
I went to Amed to learn Free Diving.
I went to Amed to learn Free Diving. Its 3 hour from Bali airport by car. a nice small village. Many good restaurants and Massage Places and Yoga Places. No Shopping just enjoy the beach. Perfect place for relax, snorkeling and sunsets with view of Mount Agung. Good start point for visiting Pura Lempuyang, rice fields, Tirta Gangga, Taman Ujang and Virgin Beach. The fishermen go out early in the morning and come back during the morning with their boats, which is noisy, the departure at 4 o’clock we never heard and never woke up because of that. The food was very good. Set in the hills on the east of Bali with a gorgeous view of the ocean and a magical mountain in the distance that would appear at certain lights. The staff were exceptional and the food fresh healthy and colourful. We enjoyed several massages while there and snorkelling down a lipah beach was a highlight of the trip. Just two minute walk to the beach with fantastic snorkeling, we even saw a turtle! Tini and Wayan, the staff, are amazing people. They helped us and took care of us when our son got a stomach infection and drove us to a nearby medical clinic, which were really good.
