What an incredible experience we had Spectacular view, very welcoming and friendly staff Great view from the bedroom. Ras kindly made a fire for us at night, which created such a beautiful ambiance to enjoy the night sky full of stars. Cannot recommend this place enough. 11/10.

The surroundings were serene and the views were magnificent. Having a private warm natural spring bath at the door made it a spectacular experience. For anyone thinking to trek Mt Batur I highly recommend staying here for a night. My private tour was organised by the Villa on the night I arrived for the next morning. There were very accomodating, assisting and provided great value.

We stayed at this place for two nights in June, and honestly, I hesitated for a long time before booking it, because I had read so many negative reviews. Now I’d like to share my own experience and respond to some of those concerns. 1. Location: Some people said the road to the hotel was terrible and even scary. Here’s what I can say: we had a private driver, not a regular taxi, and the road was asphalted almost the entire way. Even in the rain, it was totally fine. Yes, the last 5 minutes have some steep turns, but nothing extreme — any local driver will manage it easily. And here’s something no one mentioned (but absolutely should have): the hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the main road, where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes, or can just go for a walk. They will drop you off and pick you up whenever it’s convenient for you. That’s an amazing service, and I was really surprised no one had written about it. 2. Insects: Yes, there are insects. But you’re literally in the mountains, surrounded by greenery — what do you expect? That said, small flies (especially during the day) can be annoying, so I highly recommend bringing an insect repellent spray — it’s a must. Also, bring something against mosquitoes. Just keep the windows and curtains closed after sunset, and you’ll be fine. 3. Kitchen: The kitchen was great — you really have everything you need to cook, and we actually did. The hotel provides basic ingredients like oil, jam, bread, eggs, instant noodles, a few sauces, etc. Plus, the store is only 5 minutes away by car, so you can get anything else you need. 4. Shower and Bath: It’s true — you won’t be able to take long, luxurious showers or fill up the bathtub quickly. But there’s enough hot water for a normal shower, and to be honest, I never really felt like using the bathtub anyway. In most places in Indonesia, bathtubs take a while to fill — it’s not unusual. 5.

This hidden gem is an absolute MUST for anyone wanting to experience a magical Kintamani sunrise! We witnessed the most beautiful morning from the comfort of the bed and the balcony, watching the lights change colour and revealing the gorgeous mountains was an incredible experience we will never forget! The staff here are wonderful, they are so kind and helpful and did everything to make our short stay special, from offering to help us with our bags, to a welcome drink, recommendations for dinner and a truly delicious breakfast! I will be dreaming about the egg for days to come. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. It was a cool retreat from the heat outdoors. We arrived tired after a long day and left feeling well rested and truly refreshed. We could not have asked for a better stay and our only regret is not staying longer. If you are considering staying here, DO IT! It was the highlight of our Bali trip.

Being in the bush amongst nature was the highlight of my stay here. It was foggy and rainy but amazing being in the midst of it. The staff are all lovely and brought my bags to my room. Yes, there are steps, but at a small height, so they’re not so bad - in fact very doable for most people. The food in the restaurant was excellent with generous portions and the waiters/waitresses are very accommodating. If you stay 2 nights or more, you’re welcome to an afternoon tea in the tea room. This was lovely and delicious treats. I had a facial at the spa and a hot soak afterwards - it was divine!

We did 2 days which is more than enough, nothing really to see at the lake, and if you do go to temple, as usual pay to enter, pay sarong, and it’s dirty and pretty average. Mount Batur is however beautiful to view from Kintamani, the Specialty Coffee place was a cool looking establishment will terrible coffee! And as usual a odour that will scare you off. The township is so dirty, all their waste is put over the side of the hill. Sad to see so much neglect and waste dumped in this area which has so much beauty around.

Kintamani is a little village away from the hustle and...

Kintamani is a little village away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular tourist areas. We did the sunrise hike at Mt Batur and it was truly an amazing experience. We went to the hot springs after our hike and it was the best to soothe our muscles after the hike. If you are looking for a quieter area with beautiful volcano views and nature, then I definitely recommend spending some time there. Highly recommend Wayan Kitchen & Bar for a delicious meal and affordable Indonesian wine.

The time period is based on the amount of activities you plan in the area. But if you just want to do hiking up the Mount Batur or only the Jeep in the sunrise - 1 night is enough of stay. The day before and after could be used for getting the views and some restaurants.

Amazing property, felt magical, peaceful and very relaxing. Had an amazing Balinese massage at the spa, enjoyed the afternoon tea in tea room, amazing view from restaurant. The whole place was incredibly quiet - I think also because we went at a less busy time. Staff all so lovely and helpful. We got an upgrade to a bigger suite which was so amazing, very grateful for the generosity of the accomodation. They provided free additional water to the room and allowed food to be brought down to the room when I was unwell. Suksema!

A great place for a few nights overlooking the lake, with their own hot spring. Staff is very helpful and try to answer to all you needs. A bit remote but we like it. The most amazing shower during our stay in Bali. Very clean, nice friendly attentive staff Amazing view. Breakfast basic but freshly made. Very comfortable bed. great help with organising our local activities.

We really enjoyed our stay at "Pondok Bali Cottage"! The cottage was comfortable and hygienic, the food delicious and the swimmingpool so refreshing. The staff was lovely and very helpfull.
