I most liked the quiet and serene natural environment and the open-air bathroom. Showering and bathing in the latter was lovely as the bathroom has plants and the forest trees nearby are tall and overlook the bathroom. There was a lovely balcony with a daybed that was great for relaxation surrounded by the sound of cicadas and birds. Walking around the rice fields and along jungle paths to the room was great fun. There is a good restaurant with a nice pool, and the breakfast provided by Sacred Beji was well worth it. Finally, a very reasonable price for the quality of service and accommodation!

Nothing short of spectacular! One of the most unique places on earth to spend an evening. We had a fabulous time. The occasion was our 10th anniversary, thank you Susi and all the team for making it a special time. We travelled North and around the coast via Lovina to spend the evening here. We would recommend other visitors do this if you are centrally located as we found the drive a bit more comfortable and accessible. We have taken southern roads before and the travel time is longer in our opinion. There is a narrow private access road into Buhan which is charming and the facilities are very private and secluded. We loved this. On site the surroundings are stunning and this is a gross understatement. The vibe comes with a true Balinese cultural service experience we cannot praise all the staff enough. What we would typically expect from a hotel lobby, reception experience is something entirely different here. It redefines this experience for a guest. You have to go there to experience it first hand. There is no obvious defined lobby or reception as such the whole experience is tour in stages and makes for a very warm hospitable experience. The accommodation is nothing short of dream worthy. Photos do not it justice no matter how impressive the photography. Be prepparred for a complete outdoor experience in complete privacy. The Treetop construction is both fascinating and uplifting to experience. The private pool and adjacent resting cabano areas are perfect for chilling out and lazing around. In the evening we sat by the fire pit and the guest team prepparred all the bamboo screening and internal nets (for those scared of the local wildlife). In that respect, despite the obvious outdoor venue there is very little of this for anyone with any concerns. We were also extremely impressed with the level of overall material finish, like the sanitaryware, showers, bath etc. Whilst this is undoubtedly a luxury experience nothing has been short cut.

The location is remote, and we liked it! It really is in the jungle. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, lush with flora and fauna and the design is especially thoughtful and in good taste. The staff was extraordinary: they really did everything to make our stay comfortable and beyond. We enjoyed the food, the pool and the beautiful birthday preparations. Special thanks to Eji and the hotel manager (sorry I forgot to ask his name), both very kind and professional people.

The villas are located in the middle of nowhere surrounded by the most beautiful nature (rain forest, fruit plantations, volcano). The view from the luxurious villas and the infinity pool is incredible. The offered spa treatments are also really great and most of all the staff is just wonderful. Koming is the most wonderful and helpful person we‘ve met during our Bali journey. She took such good care of us and made our stay in Awan Biru villas even more special.

What I loved most about my stay at Ayung Resort was the magical setting—nestled deep in the jungle with stunning views of the Ayung River valley. The resort felt like a spiritual retreat, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with traditional Balinese art and sculptures. The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and professional, always going out of their way to ensure comfort. The villa was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless. Dining was a highlight, with delicious meals served in a serene open-air restaurant. Yes, the resort could benefit from some modernisation, as a few areas feel a bit dated, but this doesn’t detract from its overall beauty or the uniquely peaceful experience it offers.

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on...

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

+ - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

The room was very nice, spacious, with an amazing balcony overlooking the Ayung River valley and pool. The four poster bed was extremely comfortable. Room facilities were modern but retained traditional Balinese charm. Not well advertised, but the walkway passed stone carved cliff face and temple leading to a stairway all the way down to the Ayung River is well worth the effort. The staff are lovely and very helpful, especially in the restaurant. Meals were exceptional.

It was in a beautiful setting, I had my own section of terrace beyond my patio overlooking the jungle ravine where I practiced yoga in the morning. There was also a small yoga room, and an outdoor massage room where I had the Background sound of birds to nourish my soul - the only one I could find in Bali so far! There was free transport to local spots after checkout.

We really loved this place! It was like heaven. You are sleeping in the middle of the jungle and it was really beautiful! Room was clean, big and there was no the stench of the drain. Shower was outside of the room and it was magical! We had cooking lesson here and it was one of the best things what we did in Bali! We will remember it for a long time! Thank you, guys!

We called it the bali bingo breakfast every thing was lovely just language barrier sometimes so if you like tea with milk ask for sou sou very friendly staff could not try to help more then they did I would definitely visit again
