The rooms were immaculate, the staff were super friendly and the jungle atmosphere was amazing :) they also had a super chef that cooked the breakfasts every morning and Ami was fantastic and took us on a great walk through the rice paddies with a great coconut refreshment. I would also highly recommend Ami’s brother for any trips you might need to take with a taxi :)

This is the ultimate place to experience the jungle and immerse oneself into nature. The stunning river canyon, holy spring and lush gardens, lovely balcony overlooking the river valley were a nature lover’s dream. Birdlife was fantastic too. Staff was kindest and very attentive. Beautiful touches in the rooms with a super comfy bed. Great food too, especially the breakfast was outstanding. Loved the swings in the restaurant. Thanks for a perfect stay.

The food at the restaurant was always very good and done as per request. The landscaping at the resort was exceptional and was a pleasure to move around the resort or just sit and admire. The spa treatment was also good

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on...

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

+ - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

We liked the architecture, beautiful garden, how we were welcomed, we where late but we still good eat something. People are very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice massage. We took two times the service taxi to Ubud. It go’s 3 time a day and is free. We eat two times in the restaurant where we had a nice Indonesia food and the were very friendly. The resort is situated between rice fields and traditional Balinees people. If you like to hike go to the waterfall, you can do it from the resort. We can recommend this beautiful place.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in a lush rainforest, this is the perfect place—surrounded by nature and vibrant greenery. The staff was wonderful. We had a few minor communication issues, but it was never a problem, as it was clear they were doing their utmost to assist. It’s always touching to see people making an effort to help others in a language that isn’t their own (English isn’t mine either). Thank you to the Balinese people for being so kind and gracious.

Villa Wastra was great. A lovely old Balinese house in the middle of the jungle, we enjoyed just chilling as a family. It is not really close to anything but we had our own car so that is how we wanted it. The staff served us excellent breakfast (included) and a nice home-cooked dinner when we asked if they could. Very relaxing and will go back!
