From the moment of arrival, we felt instantly relaxed and excited to begin our holiday. It was lovely chatting to the Resort Manager Puspa and hearing stories about the Buahan journey thus far from an insider's point of view. Buahan's commitment to sustainability, fostering community and encouraging guests to be at one with nature are highly commendable. For us it's the amazing people, exceptional food and unique experiences that made our stay truly wonderful and unforgettable. A special mention goes to De Gus, our host who was professional, friendly, engaging and always anticipated our needs. On numerous occasions he went out his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Special thanks to Chef Eka and Chef Agus for the mouth watering meals they prepared for us. We love the concept of 70% plant based, and also the opportunity to go foraging for ingredients, we have learnt so much! A few tips and must do's to share based on our experience: - Tjampuhan Waterfall Trek --> Descend down gravel pathways and you'll be rewarded with Buahan's own private waterfall, beautiful and mesmerising. - Pop-up lunch at Tegal Dukuh, Taro Village --> The perfect blend of culture, adventure, education and of course, delicious food. - Yoga @ the Pavilion --> Best way to start your day, breathe in the peace and tranquility, practising yoga amongst the lush forest and greenery. - Cocktail hour @ Botanist Bar --> Enjoy the 'Salak' Cocktail (whiskey sour with a Buahan twist!) during sunset - Subak Buahan Trek --> A delightful trek exploring local plants and flora, finishing with a stroll through paddy rice fields. Last but not least, if you're reading this review and researching a resort to stay at in Bali, look no further and book Buahan - it is truly one of a kind, an experience like no other!

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on...

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

+ - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

Loved loved loved our stay here. The property is beautiful, well thought out, relaxing and super quiet. I can’t wait to go back to Bali so I can stay here again. They have also well thought out the ability to work from the villa - the desk space was ample, and the wifi was strong. Staff were super helpful. Note that in the second floor bathroom with the open roof, the toilet is protected from rain, but the shower isn’t. I generally get attacked by mosquitos, but noticed it didn’t seem to be an issue here.

Welcomed by very friendly staff available 24hrs via Whatsap very prompt responding to our texts. The property is as it stands in the pictures. Well designed nice decor, very private and in a quiet location in the middle of rice fields. The breakfast is generous and delicious. We have stayed in 2 different Woy Woy villas during our stay in Bali ( Samu and Bukian) and they do not disappoint - fabulous stay. Pool was well maintained and the area is spacious. Thank you
