Room: The stay was amazing, if only we booked more than 1 night! The room was beautiful, it was simple but had everything we needed. The room is very well equipped, with aircon and hot water in the showers. The beds were comfy, we had really good sleep after trekking in Tangkoko. Ardy and his family are amazing, friendly and always there to talk or help you out if needed. We really enjoy talking to them and spending time with them during our stay! And don't worry, they speak really good english too! Guided Tours: We requested for guided tours and his dad and a friend were our guides. They really went all out to ensure we ticked the animals we wanted to see off our list, they are also very good at spotting the animals! Thanks for bringing us through the different terrains and thick vegetation through the rain and sun, we really appreciate it a lot, and also thanks for letting us take our time to capture stunning photographs of the wildlife there. They always ensure that we are well taken care of throughout the whole day! Food: To be honest, I had almost no expectations for the food but WOW they had 4 delicious dishes waiting for us for every meal and also juice. The food was really good and filling, they really ensured that we were well fed for every meal. I would strongly strongly recommend anyone staying there to add on meals, you will not regret it! Overall: Please stay here, it will definitely be one of the most amazing stay in Manado! Thank you all for helping me with my camera lens which got very wet and condensed inside after an adventure out in the rain. Thanks for also preparing a raincoat for my camera during our mangrove trip and keep checking with me if my camera is doing good! Also, thanks for helping me to catch the hornets/ wasps during dinner! If we go back to Tangkoko again, we will definitely choose to stay here again! :D

New Family Homestay was like a home away from home. June greeted you at the gate when the taxi dropped us off. She was so welcoming. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean offering superb value for money. June was very helpful with answering any questions we had, even so stupid ones. She organised our tour through Tangkoko reserve with much patience as my wife was indecisive in deciding whether to do the first night tour. The guide she organised, Yento was absolutely sensational. He spotted everything, even the smallest of creatures and was so accommodating in sharing his knowledge and helping taking photos when animals were at a distance. Upon leaving June offered her continued support while we were in Sulawesi by suggesting if we had any questions we could contact us and she would help. This is a great homestay and is exceptional value for many and within walking distance to the park. We loved our stay and if we ever return this is where we would stay again.

Staying at Tangkoko Macaca was a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, just minutes from the entrance of Tangkoko National Park – and we even had black macaques wandering into the garden a few times, which was magical to witness. The accommodation was comfortable and peaceful, providing a great base for exploring the park and relaxing between tours. A special highlight of our stay was our guide, Patrick. He was incredible – deeply passionate about nature, knowledgeable, and respectful of the environment and local culture. He didn’t just help us spot wildlife – he also gave us valuable insight into the local perspective and conservation efforts, which made the experience truly meaningful. Thanks to Patrick and the rich biodiversity of the park, we saw tarsiers, a blue tarantula, black macaques, and a hornbill – it was like stepping into a real-life nature documentary. If you're looking for a comfortable place close to nature, with a guide who genuinely cares, Tangkoko Macaca is the perfect choice. I left feeling inspired and grateful.

It was such a nice stay in this homestay. The host Franky welcomes you like a friend and part of the family. We even visited a local wedding and I played some violin for them :D Also the Jungle Tours are quite interesting, and he can show you so many animals. The rooms are close to the jungle and are well equipped. Just go there, you won't regret it. Franky, I miss you and your family!

This place is top-notch. Everything from room, bed, bathroom quality and professionalism is just outstanding. One of my best stays during our 3 weeks in Sulawesi. Ana and the team is excellent and we cannot recommend them enough. The view is certainly best in Tangkoko. Price is very good for the quality, consider all meals and drinks (excluding beer) are included. Their guides are also super hard working, who goes beyond to help us spot wildlife. Also I recommend the mangrove boat trip with Ober and his family. Interestingly, we realized that their wildlife tours are significantly better priced (40% cheaper) than the budget accommodations in the area that charged $15/night. Turned out this place has the best value after all.

The guesthouse is located very close to the Tangkoko National Park entrance, so it is very convenient for guided walks. It is also very close to the beach and a few food/amenities places...extra points for the friendly resident ginger cat

Wonderful resort on a private beach with beautiful corals. Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful, with delicious food. Also close to national park and 1 hour drive to the airport.

Julian is very friendly host, moreover excellent bird guide and kingfisher king and I enjoyed all our walks for animals in the park. His wife Treisha is a lovely person and outstanding cook smiling all the time. We recommend. See you next time, our friends!

Totally recommend tangkoko lodge! We slept at deluxe doubleroom and it was a big and very clean room. Ac worked very good. The stuff was so friendly and also organized a motorbike for us. I would stay there again:)!
