The staff exceeded my expectations, always a smile, allowed us to stay in the dining room after closing as we met family. They served us in the living rooms/parlors. Food and bar service was excellent. reception assisted us with cab service and alerted us when the cabs arrived. We were delighted to learn our room was ready upon our arrival at 2 pm, especially since we had a family reunion to attend 30 miles away. The shower / tub had safety/ grip bars. towels were plentiful. Excellent hotel.

I was very impressed by the room, decor, cleanliness and comfort. I had the best nights sleep (with ear plugs as always) as the beds are really comfy! Ample parking which is very easy and it’s only 5mins drive into Carlow.

Weather . Trip .. carlow.. and hot was all fantastic the drive was so easy the direction s to hotel and town was a bonus and the xtra, s in the hotel were brilliant . Swimming pool etc .. the staff who work in the hotel could not do enough for us and I want to thank them so so much . The room it's self was stunning and so very much appreciated if I could get this e Room again I'd stay every wk end there again nothing was to much for the staff ... u all made my hubby's retirement and birthday so so special

Carlow town is a hidden gem.

Carlow town is a hidden gem. Beautiful town artisan and public building architecture. Clean, bright public areas, wonderful recreational open spaces and a vibrant, pleasant night life with lovely eateries and pubs. We were on a working conference weekend and our stay was too short. We will visit again, next time for longer and for leisure to fully enjoy Carlow town and its surrounding areas.

All possible amenities are available.

All possible amenities are available. Just watch out for the crazy people...My car got hit while stationary, and the culprit didn't even wait to speak with me. Thankfully, I was able to push out the dent, and it re-aligned with the rest of the body.

We stayed in Bagenalstown and found it an interesting place with plenty of history and architecture. Convenient food stores. The Barrow Way is a 120km long trail following the river Barrow and a great walk / cycle.

Talbot hotel fantastic. Woman at reception with short mosey brown hair.was lovely person helpful with everything.best receptionist. I booked one night then decided next day stay another night.and she got me a room straight away she was fantastic and so help.sorry didn't get her name .

Reddys, For Horse racing, Even doh the most of the staff could do with a person training course for greeting customers, they could take a few tips from the staff in the Talbot Hotel, and the Pub opposite them not to sure of the name of the bub/Dinn Ri for Food it was excellent, Similar to the Bub Opposite Reddys, The tall young Guy in Reddy's was great and service was super couldn't say the same about the rest of the staff, couldn't say the same about the dark hair girl!

Lovely house in the grounds of Woodford Dolmen Hotel only a few miles from Carlow. Was exceptionally clean and the owners had thought about the little extras such as providing slippers, toiletries and food on arrival. The house warmed up so quickly which was needed in January. You can eat and drink easily in the hotel just a short 1 min walk away. We will definitely use again if visiting Carlow again in the future.

As per my request, had bright room on top floor, could see church spires in central Carlow, & my car in carpark. Didn't have breakfast, nice to find complimentary mineral water in room. A big Dunne's Stores a 3 minute walk behind the hotel, all you need (clothes, food etc). Room very cosy and bed very comfortable. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Got the CW2 bus just behing the hotel, only about 5 stops into centre.

It was a couple of nights stop traveling from one end of the country to the other. Suited us perfectly. Lovely spot. Our short stay proably didn't do it justice. Very handy to get to places throughout Carlow and Kilkenny.
