The setting was incredible, an old, remodelled farmhouse that was equal parts charming as comfortable. The bedrooms were cozy, the bathroom amazing, the kitchen had an old feel to it and one could get a sense of old Ireland! I had my morning coffee in the garden listening to the birdsong and sheep. I highly recommend this place; it is perfect for couples or families. We did the Skellig Michael landing tour the following day which was outstanding!

We had an incredibly nice stay at Island Escape. We were there for two nights but honestly, we could have easily stayed longer. The vibe among the campers was super relaxed, and even as someone over 2 meters tall, I had plenty of space in the bed and slept really well. Breakfast, served in the large stone house starting around 8:00 (or earlier if arranged with the host), was absolutely fantastic – great coffee, a variety of cheeses, and the fresh scrambled eggs and pancakes prepared daily by the host were top-notch. The showers and sanitary facilities were clean, and the whole little camper village is just incredibly charming and cozy. A special shoutout to the host and his family – they were super welcoming, always had great recommendations for things to do in the area, and we really enjoyed the nice chats we had with them. Highly recommended – we’d come back anytime!

The room was beautiful and very spacious. The bathroom was very modern and clean with a big shower. We loved the way the breakfast is done in the room, with fresh pastries on the door each morning and the fridge filled with a variety of delicious breakfast items. Outside of the room the hotel is also beautiful and the parking in the back, which has a closed gate, is very convenient too. We highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel as well. Overall we loved our stay and hope to come back again!

    We had a evening meal at the restaurant and we could not fault it The food was well prepared and very tasty. But when it came to breakfast it was not so good The scrambled egg was tasteless The pan cakes looked and tasted like they were out of a packet

    We arrived late in the evening so didn’t see much but the next morning we drive round the island, seen some view points for photos, visited the dinosaur foot prints and had a lovely coffee and cake for breakfast at The Watch House.

    We enjoyed our few days on Valentia Island .

    We enjoyed our few days on Valentia Island . The house was lovely. We had lunch in the Hotel , great menu & The Watch House coffee shop we visited a few times aswell, amazing views , great place all round . Would love to go back

    Beautiful island with so much to offer and such lovely people and amazing fresh food especially in The Fishermans bar and restaurant I would definitely recommend going their ,ballinskelligs was a beautiful place to visit.

    Valentia Island is an incredibly beautiful place full of hstory. We had a great time exploring it and will happily come back at a different time of the year. A visit to the lighthouse is well worth it.

    So many little gems on Valentia Island, we visited the Cable...

    So many little gems on Valentia Island, we visited the Cable Station House and had the tour which was so interesting, we went on a nature walk nearby, we visited the slate quarry, Glanleam beach, we drove down to the lighthouse, the scenery is just beautiful, the Royal Hotel does gorgeous food, and the room was very comfortable and spacious, by accident we found the Geokaun mountain and cliff walk, which was spectacular as was the Bray head walk, Valentia Island is well worth a visit.

    The hospitality was truly wonderful. I felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Each morning, I could choose the type of breakfast I wanted, which was prepared deliciously. Since the place is a bit remote, the hostess went out of her way to drive me wherever I needed to go in her car. Valentia Island is a beautiful part of County Kerry that can be explored best by a hike to the top of the Geokaun Mountain!

    Absolutely amazing place! The cottage is well equipped, very functional kitchen. The whole place is very welcoming. The sea view guaranteed. Place it's clean and warm. It's a short walk to the village where you can grab a dinner or a drink in the hotel. The communication with the host was very good, they gave us some tips and recommendations. Self check in, very easy instruction.

    Location was excellent. Room was beautiful large so comfortable overlooking sea to the mainland Mountains all around. Knights Town 1k straight to centre very very quiet road and area. We had bikes cycled in 5mins to centre of town. Small town with hotel shop takeaway and pub. Ferry to mainland every 10 mins or so 2 euro pp (bikes free).
