On a sunny day in March, after a visit to Malin Head we had the pleasure of staying at The North Pole on the junction of the R238 and the R244 in Donegal. The bar, the food and room were really nice but the most greatful part was the service. Hilda makes you feel at home in her place (pub since the 60s, hotel since 2016) and helps with everything. As the sign outside says, a warm welcome, this was the warmest welcome we ever had at an overnight stay. From tourist tips to a lovely breakfast, thank you!

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They were very attentive to anything we needed. The staff were also the first establishment to ever acknowledge a written request of mine and did so in abundance. the room was spacious and luxurious.

When we arrived it was so simple to get the keys. We went straight for the Jacuzzi to make use of our time slot. The VIP area is class and the bottle of Prosecco for us out there was a lovely touch. It has a lovely working shower and Netflix on the tv. We ordered a takeaway to the cottage and got ready for our night out in Buncrana. Would definitely recommend ⭐️

    There is no onside restaurant, when I asked as sign were...

    There is no onside restaurant, when I asked as sign were displayed outside and on social media I was told they had stop doing meals as they couldn't keep or get staff. It was fundamental to my trip to have on site catering. Leaving the hotel to get to a restaurant is waste of holiday time, the drive tool above 15mins, I couldn't have wine with my evening meal because of driving. I would not have booked if I had known on site meals were not available.
