The Tara is a newly renovated hotel in a wonderful location with free parking available adjacent to the hotel. Very well appointed large room with a lovely view of the water. Helpful staff, great restaurant for all meals, separate bar, spotlessly clean- it was excellent at every level.

Great location and beautiful views from the bedroom. The town of Killybegs is a few minutes away but you feel like you are in the country. Debbie and Damian are great hosts and go out of their way to give you lots of local info. The breakfasts are extra special and delicious. One feels completely spoilt and pampered.

A beautiful apartment, so cosy and comfortable. The view out over to sea from the living area is amazing . The host is so friendly and left us a welcome basket of goodies . The host was so kind to contact us to let us know we could check-out later than the usual time because of the snow . We loved the bedroom , a very good nights sleep . It was brilliant that we could bring our Fur friend with us . The shower is outstanding The area is so peaceful We loved absolutely everything and will definitely stay again Thank you so much 😊

We might have done a better job at researching what boat or...

We might have done a better job at researching what boat or land tours would be available. We had hoped to take a boa trip under Slieve Liege cliffas and maybe a day tour to Gleneveagh National Park or Inishowen. There was a small tourist info building, but it did not open until Monday. The helpful man behind the counter seemed to indicate that once the last cruise ship visit of the season was gone, things quieted down quite a bit. It was rainy and windy most of the time. We did take a local link bus out to Glencolumbkill; weather was damp and windy, but we enjoyed the ride and had a nice lunch at a cafe, and got some business done at the post office. So the stay was a little disappointing, but, as I said, we might have done a little more research before we went. We did meet some great locals waiting for the bus, etc. and had some great chats. Our first 8 days in Ireland, travelling with family who could only stay 7 nights was a smashing success!! We have all visited Ireland several times, at least.

Great base for travelling around.

Great base for travelling around. Visited Slieve League, Assaranacha Falls, Mahera beach and caves, the Glengesh Pass, glen columcille, The Rusty Mackerel and The Boathouse in Killybegs, Donegal Town and The smugglers creek in Rossnowlagh . So we covered a lot of ground!!

Killybegs is a fishing town with a beautiful harbour with restaurants offering very tasty fresh fish dishes daily, and lovely bars if you fancy a tipple, the people are so nice and always have time for a chat. Killybegs is not to far from the historical Donegal town and the seaside resort Bundoran and lots of other beaches spread throughout the county, well worth a visit

This is a great little town and its growing.

This is a great little town and its growing. It has an amazing little sea port you can walk about and has a few great pubs with great food and of course, iced cold beers. Very convenient to everything if you are visiting this area of Ireland.

This is the friendliest place in the world.

This is the friendliest place in the world. So many amazing places to eat with views that are unforgettable. Strangely there are no bins, not even a dog waste bin. This is the only bad thing I can think of.

Killybegs is a beautiful part of the country, fantastic...

Killybegs is a beautiful part of the country, fantastic beaches and great for fishing. Highly recommended to anyone, if it isn’t on your bucket list then you should add it! And don’t forget the Seafood Shack, delicious, fresh seafood cooked right in front of you!

Location, level of noise was quieter than expected but we were on the top floor. For a pub hotel it was shockingly modern and nice with all amenities and a fridge. Very good price for a three person room

It's location to Killybegs Town is first class, a 5min walk and a lovely walk at that. We met the Owner twice during our stay and he is a gentleman and both times took time to stop and have a chat .
