Our stay at Puffin Lodge was absolutely exceptional. The hosts were so kind, the rooms were very spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the location was outstanding. Puffin Lodge is situated steps from a private beach and around the corner from Fintra Beach and not too far from Donegal Town or attractions such as Slieve League. The optional continental-style breakfast was lovely as well! Highly reccomend Puffin Lodge, you will not regret it!

We might have done a better job at researching what boat or...

We might have done a better job at researching what boat or land tours would be available. We had hoped to take a boa trip under Slieve Liege cliffas and maybe a day tour to Gleneveagh National Park or Inishowen. There was a small tourist info building, but it did not open until Monday. The helpful man behind the counter seemed to indicate that once the last cruise ship visit of the season was gone, things quieted down quite a bit. It was rainy and windy most of the time. We did take a local link bus out to Glencolumbkill; weather was damp and windy, but we enjoyed the ride and had a nice lunch at a cafe, and got some business done at the post office. So the stay was a little disappointing, but, as I said, we might have done a little more research before we went. We did meet some great locals waiting for the bus, etc. and had some great chats. Our first 8 days in Ireland, travelling with family who could only stay 7 nights was a smashing success!! We have all visited Ireland several times, at least.

Great base for travelling around. Visited Slieve League, Assaranacha Falls, Mahera beach and caves, the Glengesh Pass, glen columcille, The Rusty Mackerel and The Boathouse in Killybegs, Donegal Town and The smugglers creek in Rossnowlagh . So we covered a lot of ground!!

Killybegs is a fishing town with a beautiful harbour with restaurants offering very tasty fresh fish dishes daily, and lovely bars if you fancy a tipple, the people are so nice and always have time for a chat. Killybegs is not to far from the historical Donegal town and the seaside resort Bundoran and lots of other beaches spread throughout the county, well worth a visit

This is a great little town and its growing.

This is a great little town and its growing. It has an amazing little sea port you can walk about and has a few great pubs with great food and of course, iced cold beers. Very convenient to everything if you are visiting this area of Ireland.

This is the friendliest place in the world. So many amazing places to eat with views that are unforgettable. Strangely there are no bins, not even a dog waste bin. This is the only bad thing I can think of.

Killybegs is a beautiful part of the country, fantastic beaches and great for fishing. Highly recommended to anyone, if it isn’t on your bucket list then you should add it! And don’t forget the Seafood Shack, delicious, fresh seafood cooked right in front of you!

School reunion friends making more memories together after 41 years what better way to spend our time away than in the lovely Tara hotel killybegs . Staff where lovely rooms where spotless lovely views. The breakfast was first class and the restaurant food was amazing lovely and warm very tasty and reasonably priced the atmosphere was easygoing.and pleasant. We will definitely be visiting in the future. Highly recommended place to stay 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

A perfect beach getaway. A cosy holiday home 500m from the stunning Fintra beach. Blue Flag Cottage was the perfect getaway for a couple and their dog (the property will easily accommodate more adults & children if required) Cosy, charming and feels like a home away from home. A 5 min drive from from Killybegs and 20mins from the Sliabh Liag cliffs. The rest of Donegal is on your doorstep.

It's location to Killybegs Town is first class, a 5min walk and a lovely walk at that. We met the Owner twice during our stay and he is a gentleman and both times took time to stop and have a chat .
