We stayed there twice, one night at each end of our two-week holiday in Donegal. We found it a great place to spend our first night after a long flight to Dublin airport (which isn't too far away) and also for finishing off our trip in beautiful and relaxing surroundings. On previous trips to Ireland we'd stayed at other places in County Meath on our first and last nights and they had all been really good but Rathgillen Cabin has become our favourite. Peter, the host, is a very friendly and welcoming fella so we's love it if he'd come to stay with us at our home in Bulgaria some time. And the village has a handy shop, a great pub and a wonderful cafe where we had our final breakfast befor heading home. We were also delighted to discover that Nobber was the birthplace of the 17th Century blind harpist. Turlough O' Carolan whose music we've loved for a long time.

Bedroom was excellent, large and spacious, bigger than expected. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen facilities are excellent, always very clean and constantly monitored by staff. Comfortable living room/relax area for the guests and usually a stove fire burning there. Hosts Bridget and Dessie are always available and are very helpful. Guest accommodation is separate from the host family house. Friendly goats, dogs and cat, on this organic farm, which can be explored freely.

This 18th-century castle has a quiet location, looking out over huge grounds and beautiful countryside. It is now a 4-star hotel, mixing original character with modern luxury and free parking.

From the check in to check out the experience was top notch, very professional staff, so friendly and helpful. Castle is magical, with so much to see! We stayed in a superior courtyard room, number 65, so spacious and luxurious. The bath in the room was a really nice extra, bed was very large and comfortable. We could park right outside the room. We stayed Saturday night and there was a wedding being catered for but we never heard any noise or had any disturbance. We had our evening meal in the bar and it was delicious and service was so quick and attentive. Breakfast the next morning was the same, excellent selection of hot food and buffet items with quick and friendly staff. We have done a lot of hotel stays and this was by far the best one, will definitely be back!

Staff were exceptionally nice. Every staff member took the time to talk to us. The food was extremely nice and prompt and friendly service. Well worth the money. I'll definitely go back during the summer. Rooms were nice and big, Just at the right temp too.
