It's located bang on national highway, good ambiance with tasty food and smily manager. Clean and spacious Chalet, sufficient parking space, green plants coating apple arcades. Would love to stay here again.

What can I say, we arrived at Dakpa House and simply found the place amazing. We had arranged to check in a little earlier than normal due to connecting flights and could not believe the property was every bit as good as the photos. The owner and his team personnally greeted us on our arrival and guided us as to how best to adjust to the altitude (Ladakh is at a height of approx 3500m we you are breathing 30% less oxgyen than at sea level). We then settled into our room and the view, breathtaking. Each morning we awoke to a view of snow capped mountains and all we had to do was raise our heads from the pillows. Our room was very spacious and would put a number of 5 star hotels to shame. Then the food, every meal was a small banquet with the even meals consisting of no less than 5 seperate dishes and then desert, all freshly prepared with produce they grow themselves. Anything we could think of the chief was more than happy to prepare. We had planned a day trip to Pangong Lake on day 3 and the team even prepared a basket of food and drinks for us to take with us so we could ebjoy the view even futher. After several discussions with the owner, we discovered he is also an experienced rock and ice climber who regularily takes groups climbing. With views of where we could have treked if we had know we would have tried to organise a longer stay in Ladakh and organised a short trek ourselves. We cannot praise highly enough the property, staff and owner for our stay in Dakpa House. It is definately on our list to re-visit in the future.

What a lovely and very peaceful place to stay in Shey! The owner Arif was very quick to respond to my messages and very helpful when I had any questions. I felt very welcomed at the house. Wonderful and very hospitable family. Arif went out of his way to make sure I had an excellent stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. They also have a menu available with vegetarian and vegan options. The food was so delicious! Would highly recommend to stay here if you're looking for a place outside of the hussle and bussle of Leh!

: Ameer Homestay is the real deal—authentic and heartwarming. From the moment we saw Salims smiling face, we felt at home. He made us feel completely comfortable and was always up for a great conversation. Salim is a top guy who genuinely welcomes you into his home. The room was beautiful, and the surroundings were peaceful, with two cows, some chickens, and a field full of vegetables. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay where you feel truly at home, I highly recommend this place. You'll need to get a taxi here but it's worth it! Thank you for our lovely time here.

The staff was very kind and helped us a lot during our stay in Leh. We made a tour through nubra valley and to the Pangong Tso lake. It was a wonderful experience. Also the monasteries were worth a visit. Wi-Fi present in the reception area but we were able to use a local SIM card from the hotel to stay connected.

Exquisite! Truly exquisite! Worth every penny! Wonderfully idyllic place to relax in privacy in your own lodge by a river. 48 hours of acclimatisation is required on arrival in Leh so this place is the perfect choice! The best staff; great service but not in any way overbearing! Food was home cooked yumminess! They have thought of everything!
