You can get traditional South Indian foods like Idly, Masala Dosai, Filter coffee etc., Thanjavur Big temple built by King Raja Raja Chozhan and near by many temples and sculptures you can visit. Our main purpose was to visit Thyaraja Aradhanai at nearby Thiruvaiyaru. This was served. Our local sightseeing was to Brahadeeswarar temple. This is more a public monument than a temple. Frankly, the upkeep and maintenance of the precincts was disappointing! The place is not tourist friendly. The locker room for footwear was too congested and dirty. You have to brave it out barefoot!
