Everything. From the reception to check out, the finesse of the rituals, the services, great restaurants n a grand room. N mostly the eco friendly manners n solutions in every way which most other major hotels shd learn to adapt.

I stayed at Lakshmi Villa in Hampi recently and had a good experience. The owners live downstairs and were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. They also offer home-cooked meals, which are simple and tasty — you can opt in for them if you like. Since I was travelling alone, safety was important for me, and I felt completely comfortable and at ease here. They even helped me find a two-wheeler rental, which made exploring Hampi a lot easier. There’s proper vehicle parking too, which is a plus. Overall, it felt like staying at a place that genuinely cares about its guests — warm, safe, and easy. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in this area.

I had a great stay at Mango Tree Homestay. The staff was very friendly and were able to check me in as soon as I arrived, even though it was hours before check-in. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and full of character. Overall a great value. Lakshmi, the proprietor made great dosas each morning, and Mustafa, the auto rickshaw driver, made exploring the surrounding ruins a breeze. I was actually most impressed with Mango Tree by something that happened after I checked out. I had just sat down to eat lunch at a restaurant when I suddenly began to feel very sick. Mustafa took be back to the hotel, stopping on the way to pick up some rehydration drinks. Lakshmi set up a bed for me even though I had already checkout out, and since I was having stomach trouble, even prepared a simple bowl of rice and curd (yogurt). They made a potentially difficult and dangerous situation far more manageable. This is the sort of treatment you'll never get at a big hotel or resort.

Great location. Very close to all the temples. Our host was an official Hampi guide, so we used him for our first day. Excellent. Real home stay. We interacted with the family. The meals were all exceptional.
