Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We are use to very large rooms with kitchens in our hotel room. While we vacationed in Iceland we stayed at VRBO’s but we saw this unique hotel and had to stay here and experience it! Loved walking around the hotel and the use of hot tub and sauna !!!Guest review byronnieUnited States - 10.0
Lovely little fishing village.
Lovely little fishing village. There is a couple supermarkets and some restaurants. There is a main bus stop 2 mins from the Viking Hotel which was so handy and the stop for the Flybus coach to the airport (approx £23 pp one way) was opposite the hotel which was super handy and you get a beautiful view of the harbour whilst you wait. We got off 2 stops early from Reykjavík one day and walked back to explore and there were some lovely sights on the way. It’s a really nice place that’s neat and tidy. Great hotel. Was given a room upgrade. The person at the reception desk was very helpful and recommended a great restaurant, A. Hansen, for dinner. Loved the shower head, felt like a personal waterfall. The room didn't have USB ports but fortunately I had a european plug adapter with me. Such a cute town!
Such a cute town! Small enough to feel cozy but also large enough to actually have restaurants and groceries! The whole town is very clean-like not a piece of trash anywhere. It’s so lovely & nice that it almost feels like it’s a movie set. we stayed on the water so the views were spectacular. It’s a short drive to Reykjavik so if you want to bustle of a city, you can have it in a few minutes. Its also a short drive to the blue lagoon so you can relax all day in the lagoon then make it back easily to Hafnarfjorour. Every person we met spoke English very well in the town so there were no communications issues. Pallet coffee shop is a lovely coffee shop with the friendliest staff and delicious bottomless coffee. Our first morning in town, we spent a couple hours just sipping coffee and talking with locals. Hotel Viking is cute. The rooms are nice and the staff friendly. The hotel is a no frills bed for the night accommodation. The hotel recently opened so all the furniture is brand new. The rooms are small but everything was clean. It is located in Hafnarfjordur,so you are outside the main tourist area and away from the nightlife. There is a bus stop close by where you catch a regular direct bus into the centre of Reykjavik which takes about 20 minutes.There are a few restaurants and take-away places for lunch and dinner nearby but it is not easy to get an early breakfast.Guest review byJamesIceland

The North Campers team is very supportive and friendly. Everything worked perfectly smoothly including airport pick up and drop off.
