Beautiful Yurtel in a great location between the Gullfoss and the Geysir. We were driving the highland road F35 afterwards, so the location was great for our purposes. The Yurtel are very comfortable inside, like a 4* hotel room. There was even a tea cattle with tea bags inside - which is great at the end of the day. The beds are very comfortable. Living among the nature and waking up in the morning and stepping outside for an amazing view to the glacier, the grassland, to the sun standing low is such a wonderful memory for us. There are toiletts and showers near the Yurtel 1, where the breakfast is served. Behind the Yurtel 1 live some wild rabbits, who don't go away - saw them in the evening and in the morning. The breakfast was very nice, there was Skyr, fruit, toast with ham, 3 sorts of marmelade and cheese and I think boiled eggs, and of course coffee and tea. We loved everything about our stay. Also nice that you can visit the Geysir and the Gullfos in the morning, if the wheather was bad last day. On the way to the Yurtel we visited the Secret Lagoon - very nice there, highly recommended, with not so high prices compared to others (50% of the Myvatn Nature baths, and is just as nice or better).

Excellent location, Well maintained. After a hectic day out this property is a perfect place to unwind. I would also recommend people who are interested in the aurora borealis this place offers the perfect location, You have to just stand in your backyard when there are clear skies you get lucky to spot them. The kitchen was well equipped, A common dining and living area with plenty of board games and not to forget the wonderful acoustic guitar. Overall I highly recommend this place if you are looking for accommodation around Gullfoss falls.

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very regular and worth seeing. No long walks available at the site. Visitors centre was okay although light on info as to the geology of the site and how geysers work. Good cafeteria.

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.

The hosts are very friendly and attentive. They give you a quick tour and explain all the necessities as you arrive. Hotel is very neat, clean and organized. Looks like an old barn made into something so cozy! The view and the nature is amazing! Domestic animals are the point of attraction for people who are into animals, kids would definitely love it.

My review is actually for the Hotel Geysir as we were upgraded. We originally booked Litli Geysir as there was 3 and hotel Geysir didn’t have triple rooms and this one did. When we arrived we were moved to hotel Geysir and given 2 rooms at no added charge. Everything was perfect. Staff lovely and accommodating; and food out of this world.

Fantastic experience!! Couldn’t recommend it more. It was a pleasure to stay here for the night. So relaxing being out in nature but still with all the comforts of a hotel. Lovely breakfast the next morning as well. The separate shower block, that is communal, is very clean.

The location is a good base for travellers doing the golden circle. They offer northern lights alert. Though we weren’t able to see it in our stay, I imagine the hotel would be a perfect place to see the northern lights.
