10 out of 10 this place. They charge you a premium price and unlike other hotels in Iceland you actually do get a PREMIUM experience. The room was designed to a standard which makes their nightly rates logical (unlike other hotels in Iceland). It was worth every cent in my eyes. Comfortable bed. Very nice bathtub. We had an amazing night and the tomahawk at their restaurant was sublime. You need to keep in mind that other places in Iceland will charge you same amount and you will NOT even remotely get your money's worth. That is not the case here.

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very regular and worth seeing. No long walks available at the site. Visitors centre was okay although light on info as to the geology of the site and how geysers work. Good cafeteria.

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.

Hotel Gullfoss is a wonderful place to stay. It is spotless and effortlessly cool - as in Nordic cool - meaning neat, almost minimalist design. OK, by UK standards, it's expensive, but the food is superb and the accommodation (we were in the newer wing, with a valley view) is simple but very comfortable. Staying in July, we were able to stroll outside in the daylight after dinner and enjoy the tranquillity of the valley. Heavenly.

The hosts are very friendly and attentive. They give you a quick tour and explain all the necessities as you arrive. Hotel is very neat, clean and organized. Looks like an old barn made into something so cozy! The view and the nature is amazing! Domestic animals are the point of attraction for people who are into animals, kids would definitely love it.

Fantastic experience!! Couldn’t recommend it more. It was a pleasure to stay here for the night. So relaxing being out in nature but still with all the comforts of a hotel. Lovely breakfast the next morning as well. The separate shower block, that is communal, is very clean.
