Our host was exceptional. She was friendly, gave an overview of the area, explained how everything works, worked hard, and always smiled. We enjoyed her sense of humor, and wish her all the best at convincing local officials to see her vision and follow her wisdom.

Host is very generous. He lets us upgrade room type without any extra charge. The room is good. And dinner is very delicious! We strongly recommend this hotel!

In fact, I would have loved nothing more than to extend my stay indefinitely! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcome. The hospitality here is second to none, and it's evident that the hosts go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. But the real highlight of my stay was the breakfast shared with the host. It was not just a meal; it was an incredible experience that was both delicious and entertaining. The stories and conversation that flowed were delightful, and it felt like spending time with an old friend. Saudafell Guesthouse is situated on a beautiful farm, and being there felt like a true escape. The picturesque surroundings, complete with grazing sheep and the company of lovely border collies, were simply amazing. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic, rural way of life. We felt as at home in this lodge, it was so cozy and nice, the common area is well equipped. The bathroom was super clean. Special thanks was warm floors, it was like paradise after cold rainy day.

The stay absolutely exceeded our expectations. We booked a cabin for a one-night stay after our long road trip from the northern region. The staff was exceptionally friendly; she even introduced us to the charming small town and the information about the stores and restaurants that are still open for business during winter. If you prefer cooking, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely greenhouse available for shared use. Some comments mentioned that the room was too small. While it is true, it was more than enough for just sleeping. The beds (and the pillows) were the most comfortable ones we had during our 16-day trip in Iceland. We would absolutely recommend this place to others who are planning to visit the Westfjords and are looking for a convenient stop on the way to the west side. Oh - and the kind staff even remind us to go out to catch the stunning northern light! :D

I recently stayed in the Mirror Suite and was absolutely impressed. The room is beautifully designed, spacious, and filled with natural light, creating a luxurious yet relaxing atmosphere. Every detail—from the elegant furnishings to the modern amenities—was thoughtfully curated to ensure maximum comfort. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the service exceeded expectations, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The suite truly offers a perfect balance of style and comfort, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure stays. I would highly recommend the Mirror Suite to anyone looking for an exceptional and memorable stay.

This place is a must if you're in the vicinity! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We've stayed in one of the cabins at the top so the view was breathtaking, it was also convenient to park the car right next to the cabin. Inside it was warm and cozy, there was a lit up candle so it smelled great. We've watched the northern lights in the hot tub and it was unforgettable. But the best part was the breakfast. There was so much food and so much options... Everything was so delicious and we definitely ate too much :D If we ever come to visit Iceland again, we are booking a room here for sure!

Very nice, large room with outstanding bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location for a stopover during Ring Road trip. A plus - nice 3 km hike to the Grábrók volcano straight from the hotel (or shorter from the parking)

Our stay was wonderful! Iceland’s weather may be unpredictable, but its beauty more than makes up for it. Coming back at the end of the day to this beautiful house with stunning surroundings made our trip even more special. It felt warm and welcoming, like coming home. Our family (four siblings with our spouses) absolutely loved it—a true home away from home.
