The hosts were very lovely, accommodating, and informative. The beds and rooms were comfortable and cozy, and we had all the amenities we needed for the stay. The location was perfect - literally a minute walk to a museum, right next to the ocean. The breakfast was perfect. 10/10 would return again. Thank you so much !!!!

It's such a cosy and nice place! Always warm, always clean. Tea, milk, and biscuits are available. The view was amazing and it makes you feel quite independent, as when you get in, you find a paper with your name and room. It doesn't give the "hostel" feeling. It feels like your own home with friends.

Excellent place to stay if you are in the area near Holmavik. The hosts were lovely and available for any questions or issues you may have. Spacious, clean , comfortable, modern. Quiet, peaceful, with scenic views. The hot tub is great, Why pay to go to a geothermal tub, when you have one right here. Highly recommend.

Cosy cabin with everything we needed for a comfortable night’s stay. The private hot tub was a fab way to wind down after a day of driving & hiking. We’d definitely recommend it to couples or 2 friends on an Icelandic road trip

I loved the location.

I loved the location. We enjoyed a squall while hunkering down in the main dining area. Only complaint was that the access to turn on the lights in the main sitting/dining area was behind a sign that said no access/staff only. Cute and charming place with some rooms having a beautiful ocean view. There is a museum next door where we ate as during the time of year we visited was the only restaurant open. It was delicious and had a great selection for the size of the restaurant. The town is very picturesque and also has a church with rainbow steps leading up the side of a hill.

Holmavik is a beautiful village on the Steingrimsfjordur...

Holmavik is a beautiful village on the Steingrimsfjordur with charming architecture (especially the church!) and nice restaurants. It's a perfect stop on your way to or from the West Fjords. We stayed there the last night of our 6-night visit in the West Fjords in order to be close to Drangsnes, where we were taking a boat to Grimsey Island and whale watching the next day. I booked a room in Holmavik because there weren't any available in Drangsnes, but we were so glad I did! We visited the national Witchcraft Museum while in Holmavik and ate out in one of its many restaurants. We loved Holmavik and will certainly come back on our next trip to Iceland.

What impressed me most was the well-maintained atmosphere; you can tell someone takes good care of the accommodation. Sea view. The kitchen is well-equipped, with a refrigerator, etc. Everything is clean: the room, living room, kitchen, toilet, shower, hallway, etc. And it's very close to cafes, a supermarket, and so on, all within walking distance.

The guesthouse is small and cozy.

The guesthouse is small and cozy. The rooms are small and clean. It was missing a hairdryer which was advertised as being there but everything else was as described. The hosts were pleasant and talkative as were the other staff. A light breakfast was advertised so we didn't expect many varieties but it was acceptable.

There isn't much to do in Holmavik itself.

There isn't much to do in Holmavik itself. However, in neighboring Drangsnes there's a highly recommended restaurant (it belongs to the hotel there, where we would have been better off staying). There are also three unique hot tubs on the road right by the sea, with two changing rooms on the opposite side of the street. We really enjoyed it there.
